Just a quick question for anyone watching or visiting within the next week. I am not sure which style of gate I want to use, I have models mostly done for all three styles and was curious what the community wants, the SG-1, Atlantis, or Universe Stargate?

Certain locations may use a specific one anyway but for the general gate you see on most worlds is what I can't decide on, I personally love them all so deciding between them is a little hard for me. I don't have pics to share of all three to decide as 2 don't have textures and the other is still being modeled, although I am sure you all know what the gates look like.

I was considering another option too, making a totally new design, but I am not creative enough to make anything that looks good and stays semi-canon to an extent so this idea has been dropped unless someone sends me images/models/etc of a unique choice.

I will tally up the votes in the comments in a weeks time so you have that long to decide, if there is a draw or two choices have a 5% difference or less between them then I will choose the other option.

If there is a draw between all three gates then I will take a small amount of 3 of my cats favorite edible things, assign them a gate in alphabetical order, then lay them out at equal distances from my cat and whatever thing he stuffs into his mouth first gets chosen. (thought this will keep me entertained).

My vote's for SG-1. Really, it's color and basic design fit best with Skyrim (IMO).

I concur, SG-1 stargates are the most consistent with the "old-stone" look of skyrim.

I agree that the SG-1 would be more lore-friendly for this but, I've always been a fan of Pegasus gates. Maybe you should do optional model changes versions. If your up for it.

@MistriliaSysmic Yeah I'm thinking that might be a good idea now, having the three specific gates then the default gate have an optional model, I'll make it part of the install process so people can choose the gate from the start. Will have to devise how to go about making all three gates work right on the same positions/scripts now haha. Edit: Yeah that will work fine, if in future other gate designs are made it will be easy to have them instead too, for example dwarven or nordic styled gate.

did everyone forget about the Ori gates that looked almost exactly like Snow-Elf architecture? I guess they were only in a few episodes and concept art, so maybe people did miss them...

@SphereOfRa There were no Ori stargates in the tv series or movies other than the supergate and that certainly wouldnt fit. If you have dug deep enough into the bowels of the internet to find a picture of an Ori stargate then please link it because I seriously have tried my hardest to find more than some stupid kids drawing of one on deviantart, and to my knowledge an official design doesn't exist. Edit, if you mean the transporter rings (which I hope isn't the case really) I already have models for 3 different variations of them and I am working on a 4th set too, mainly the cover panel is what is different as the locations dictate that, like the Tok'ra had sand covered ones for their base in the series. The name escapes me right now, but in SG1, there was a race more advanced than humans being invaded by the goa'uld. they had huge ion cannons and they had created their own *white* stargate.
