All I have to say about Hearthfire is, bring on the genre blending! My favorite sort of DLC for a game like Skyrim (as opposed to, say, Mass Effect) is the kind that brings in new features, that brings in elements of other game genres. I want more sim, more building sandbox, more strategy, and more puzzles in a loose-narrative RPG.

great now they can get away with selling us mods awesome if a developer team for a game like skyrim can tell me that this is supposed to be impressive we can forget and more good dlc from them which is really upsetting to me i hate vampires but i absolutely loved playing as one in dawnguard especially with the possibilities it opened up for modders and their excellent work
the depressing thing is we have modders that give so much to skyrim and their work is amazing but skyrims own developers are trying to sell this even if it is only 5 bucks it adds up and the xbox community will buy it up

Always a sucker for customization things... I'll probably get it once it comes out on pc... Though I'd like to see some larger dlcs in the future. Maybe something along the lines of kicking the s*** out of some Thalmor :3

Does this mean we are forced to start the Dark Brotherhood quest line in order to adopt?

I really hope this will be a 5 dollar DLC because theres some great modders out there that do far more, for far less.

Not for me. I have modded player homes, and I rarely use those anyway to be perfectly honest. I thought having a wife would be really cool when they announced it way back when, but that's even meh to me now, so I don't think adopting kids will make much of a difference for me.

If they would release something more along the lines of Shivering Isles, I would be more than happy to drop up to $30-$40 on it, easy. I think I liked Shivering Isles more than base Oblivion, actually. I absolutely LOVE large-scope DLC like that, when they add all kinds of new stuff. I like new places to explore. Dawnguard was disappointing to me because of the lack of new areas. Hey, at least they're still supporting the game. Say what you will about Bethesda, but they never abandon a game after release.

The CK already gives you the option to make player homes. This DLC is for those people who don't know how to use the CK properly or don't wish to know how to use it at all. While I can download player homes from the Nexus, those for the Xbox and PS3 can't create custom homes like the PC version can so this addresses their needs (somewhat). While the majority agree that Skyrim on the PC is better, I am glad to see them still thinking about those who do not have a computer and only have the home console version of the game. I will purchase this DLC if only to make sure I have a "complete" Skyrim game although the Nexus address all my needs already thanks to great mods and their creators.

Wait so we can only adopt people from the orphanage? Dang. I finally thought I could have a full family. Carlotta and adopt Mila so I could pretend i was the orginal father or the good step father. ha I'm sure there is a console code to add characters for adoption.
