Beth really has a lot to learn from Fromsoft.
now it's just a matter of whether they care enough to give us combat that's just as good.

Yeah well as far as combat realism goes, Dark Souls takes the cake... But that's about it for me. The console version was allright but i played the pc port and it's just so... awkward, i mean the camera and the galore of button mashing combos. What i'd like for skyrim, or let's say next non-online elder scrolls game would be something right in the middle. Too much realism is an actual thing, i don't see any point in playing a game if i get frustrated by it on any level.

i didn't even realize it much, yes i like to have more realism in skyrim that's why i use the frostfall hypothermia mod and imps more complex needs, but the more realistic combat and collision system is matter of a long debate, how many would actually like it?
Many people play games to have fun not for realism, many games that are too realistic don't sell much like ARMA 1 and 2 for example, many critics said that if they wanted that level of realism they would join the real army instead.
But it would certainly be more attractive from 1st person view if you could see your hand reaching to pull a chain or grabbin' a book and go through pages.
And a system so you can actually chop of draugr's hands would be welcomed too and they do have it look at fallout you can actually cripple body parts of the enemy, this is missing in skyrim

Imho let Bethesda make their game however they want.
If the combat should be more realistic or not if it is worth implementing to the game or not that's up to them. Up to us is whether we buy it or not.
Whatever changes they do there will always be people who love it and who are against it.

trust me no you wouldn't like that for 2 reasons 1) your character will have to be in the correct spot and distance away from the chain to pull it. 2) chances are if it is in the game it would slide your character to where its at and there would be complaining that "my character teleports to where it want to be to pull the chain" and we would have a post like this one where instead of there being no collision box on your weapons it would be your character warping to locations to open a door

There is one problem why the "hit multiple enemies" wouldn't work in skyrim, civilians.
If you were fighting say a bandit near an ally you would be hitting them as much as the bandit
and building up a bounty.
just my thought.
