I really dont even care what IGN thinks any more. I mean with them, any game with the name Call Of Duty automaticaly get a 9\10, even if it's a complete POS. they've been bought out, it's really quite that simple.

As much as I love Final Fantasy 6 and some of the Final Fantasy games...It does not belong at #1. This list gave me cancer.
So much stuff got omitted from the list, including the amazing Panzer Dragoon Saga. Seriously, how can the omit one of the most original JRPGs ever, if it has other JRPGs on the list?

Why do I even bother looking at these lists when I know i'll just rage... And furthermore why do I read anything IGN posts anymore...
I'm fairly new to rpgs. So much so that Oblivion was the game that got me into them in 2007 but even I can see what bulls*** this is. Oblivion and skyrim were both very beautiful but lacked any sort of life. Much of the same went on Morrowind but not to that extent. Save for Morrowind they wouldnt deserve a place in top30. I loved oblivion when I played it the first time but that was before I played much better games or any rpgs for that matter. Now I can see the weak story, dialogue and quests and that it definitely does not get to be called a good rpg. A lot of people new to rpgs (and some not so) now make the mistake of thinking that skyrim is something amazing despite lacking immersive story, dialogue or quests. If bethesda developed the world and let obisidian handle the story it mightve been something.
New Vegas was easily better than FO3 or anything bethesda has ever managed to make for that matter. It lacked polish but had life and managed to really immerse. And whats with all the jrpgs, marios and pokemons? I've personally hated every single one ive tried and except perhaps for a very select few they shouldnt even be on the list.
And wheres the witcher and dragon age origins? I hated the auto dialogue in both witchers and da:o was a bit cliched but they were both still amazing. Drop diablo 3 and other useless games that add nothing and theres space for much better ones.

Ewww mentioning FF10 ME3 and DA2 in the same sentence as Secret of Mana, Dragon Age, Fallout 1 & 2 and ME 1 & 2 should be a crime.

It's IGN so I wouldn't put too much stock in it. They have some good ones on there but the order they're listed in seems schizophrenic, and a lot of great games are missing.

I have to stop reading these things. Phantasy Star deserves a higher spot. Not to mention they didn't include the Third, which was one of the first games of its kind to follow a recognizable and relate-able female lead that wasn't a stereotype. Planescape: Torment is another that is almost criminally low on the list. Not to mention the Witcher, one of the most beautiful and fun games I have ever played since a modded Oblivion.
Also Pokemon Red/Blue ... o.0 I thought it wasn't an RPG? The more you know I guess.

IGN is about the most useless site their polling is always so inaccurate..I like to see the polling data on countries and the # of ppl per country-I will guarantee you its stacked big time. I played many FF games but seriously #1 that needs to be in the 50s if not the 70s

Well for your information guys.
You cant spell "Ignorance" without IGN.That list basically proves that.

Morrowind is better than Skyrim in so many ways. The staff at IGN really needs to rethink that list...
