I haven't set foot in Mournhold yet (let alone Solstheim) but I was wondering whether there's anything special to do for vampires? I have a feeling there isn't, but hey, you never know...

You are correct, there is nothing special for vampires. In Bloodmoon you can become a werewolf.

To follow up on Malchik's post there's a very good reason why there isn't anything for vampires to do in either expansion. Simply, you can't get to Mournhold because you would have to talk to an NPC who would kill you on site to get transported, so that option is ruled out. Same thing goes for Solstheim but you could conceivably swim to the island if you really wanted to run around the island that badly.

No need for getting someone to teleport you. (This glitch works for me) Go to the Vivec mages guild. Go stand beside the bed (seems to work most there) and use Almisvi(sp?) Intervention. That will take you to the entrance to the MournHold temple.

I suppose you could also go to Mournhold before becoming a vampire, cast a mark spell, return to vvardenfell, get the disease and all, and just cast recall... Haven't tried this myself, tho. I suppose you wouldn't be able to get back to the main isle, either...

If you're really desperate, you could follow that procedure and then use Fyr's Daedric special to teleport to Magas Volar (if you haven't already done what's necessary in that little place) and then to Tel Fyr.
...And while we're on the subject of amulets, isn't there a little something you get when you advance in the clan ranks that allows you to get out of places in a hurry?
...Of course, it would be quite pointless because there's nothing special for vampires down there -- well, you could embrace the entire Dark Brotherhood, but that isn't quite "special" enough to warrant going to Mournhold, using up your Mark, becoming a vampire and possibly advancing high enough to get the amulet, recalling back to Mournhold, doing your rounds, and then preparing your extraction.

Indeed, that's true. The main game is really more for vampires anyway.

I haven't tried this but it seems like it would work: After you're infected you have 3 days before you transform, just transport during those 3 days to mournhold/ solsteim(sp) but getting back would be a problem but you could mark on the mainland and then recall when finished with your stay at either island. But there isn't anything special for vampires there so it's kind of pointless enless killing the population without achieving a bounty.
