The problem can be that mod requires OBSE. Do you have it?

Thenthe procedure is explained in readme. There are 3 spells. Which one have you used? Perhaps Myrmaad can give you more specific information.

When in doubt you can cast all three, but pay attention because they do tell you more than just the form ID.
They tell you what mod something came from, or whether it came from oblivion.esm.

Here are some examples:

it's pretty self-explanatory I think, but if you need more help let me know, but I'm starting to wonder about this door.

Something is very very strange, and the best possible world would be for you to work on figuring out Screenshots.

A tool like FRAPS would help immensely more than even form ID finder.

I was trying to find a sample on youtube which shows it.

Okay, I figured out how to use the FormID Finder mod and here is what I get:

Wooden Door with FormID 0003AC56 Wooden Door with FormID 000FFA77

Does that help?

(I already got through the door by pickpocketing the key, but I am still curious as to what might have been going on!)

The door has two different form ID's? And you didn't say what it said it "belongs to", like in the picture.

This is kindof getting ridiculous.

It's time for you to enable your screen shots.

Browse to your Documents folder (XP = "My Documents" , Vista = "Documents")
Inside there is a folder called "My Games" Double click to open it.
There will be an "Oblivion" folder. Double click to open it.
You will see a file called Oblivion.ini

Right click on it and choose copy.
Then, from the Menu Bar at the top of your window, choose Edit, and then Paste. You should now have a file called "Copy of Oblivion.ini". That's just your backup, in case something were to go wrong. You have another good copy anyway in your Bethesda/Oblivion folder, so this isn't crucial, and nothing is going to blow up from what we're doing here, anyway. Relax.

Ok, go back to the Oblivion.ini file.
Right click on it, from the context menu choose "Open With"
then choose Notepad.

Your Oblivion.ini document will open in Notepad.
From the Menu Bar at the top choose Edit, Find..
type: bAllowScreenShot
and click Find Next

Notice it has =0 after it. That's what's stopping you from taking screenshots in game.
Change the zero to a one and save.

That's it. All done. Now you can take screenshots in your game.

Dear Myrmaad,

Okay, here are the screenshots that will allow you to know exactly where the door in question is. Also I took screenshots of the pop-up output from both FormID spells. However, even when converted to JPEGs, they are still too big too upload to this forum. How do I get these to you?

Use one of these, the first does not require an actual account to be made, they are all free.

www.tinypic.com
www.imageshack.us
www.photobucket.com

You're going to first follow the directions at the site to upload your image.

Then you're going to copy the link the site gives you to your image, after your upload is completed.

Then you're going to open a new reply and paste that link into the reply screen.

The image link will have brackets around it at the beginning and the end like these = [ ]
and inside the brackets will be a code 'img' and '/img' and a web address (url) nested inside.

it'll look something like this:

[ img ] http:// your image linked at tinypic url [ / img ]

Good job, I just wish you hadn't reduced them quite so much, but that's just because I can't see.

Well, crappola. This is a door from a "Parented Object", thus it was definitely added by a mod.

Let me do a bit of sleuthing.
