@arietatray

You can actually change the initial squad size by increasing the base capacity of the Skyranger. I found this out by changing that value to 8 thinking "Hey I can carry 8 troopers with me but I'll only start with 4 in the beginning. Awesome!" Then start the first mission and I have 6 guys chilling at the skyranger and 2 others spawned the middle of the map because the game was like WHATS GOING ON TO MANY PEOPLE AHH!

But yes you can change the base squad size. Changing it in the long run no idea. Just started looking through and editing the exe myself so.

@Chewbaka I think I said exactly that a few posts down =P The game only has set spawns for 6 people at the skyranger and the rest just get tossed where-ever, which makes it not very practical to do at the current moment. @rikjs There is a difference that I found through testing with a few saves and having them just scanning for awhile. With the mod for one month I found about 4 UFO's, always the same ones in always the same spot. Without the mod I only found 2 UFO's, both of which where from the batch of 4 from before in the same exact spots. Also without the change you can't find terror ships, sure you might find a UFO that does terror stuff but not the actually terror ship that causes the terror mission to happen. Though keep in mind that once you have satellite coverage up over a country it will no longer have abduction missions on it again. Thus if you have up enough satellites you will never have a abduction mission again with or without the mod.

@arietatray That's what I get for not reading all the posts :P my bad. Edit: Hmm Has anyone experienced graphical glitches where there is random black squares over certain rooms and the such after using any modified Exes? If not I think I might have messed up when I did my own custom editing. Edit2: Fixed it by validating my files and then replacing the exe again. Not sure what happens but its fixed now so.

Im eager to try this mod but im having a problem running the patcher.bat. I have no idea what the error means so if anyone knows what this means:

.NET Framework Initialization Error

To run this application, you must first install one of the following versions of the .NET Framework:
v4.0.30319
Contact your application publisher for instructions about obtaining the appropriate version of the .NET Framework.

I am at a loss. I have tried installing this 5 times now. I have done everything as instructed, but the changes just doesn't show up in-game :/

I have tried disabling auto-updates, I have tried running the patcher in compatability mode, I have run the patcher from both the desktop and the game directory, my steam folder is located on the C: drive.... every time on a clean install. Nothing.

Any advice?

Thanks a lot i'd never heard of .net before but it easily fixed my problem.
After activating i see the minor changes like 10 day satelites, improved rewards, etc.
What i dont see are the Second Wave options or intercepting UFOs.

Something has occured to me though. You say if i dont have a satelite in the area I wont see them, yet if you do they wont show up anyway (the abducting ones anyway)

@northfield
please past me the log.txt in the modpatcher thread :)
if everything fails, download version 0.1 in the modpatcher thread
copy 0.1 patcher in your game directory
copy the mod file in the game directory
start the patcher
rename your xcomgame.exe to something like xcomgame.org
rename the newly created xcom-modded.exe to xcomgame.exe
start the game throug steam

Thanks for your help :) here's the log. Steam "finishes installation" for about 10 seconds before I start after I have patched. Don't know if it is supposed to?

The patcher should have done his job as far as i can tell, seems like steam overrides the changes, but i dont know why, wasnt there an option for disabling this within steam ?
