Delete any mod files + exe files.
Verify game integrity.
Close steam (make sure it's not running in the tray).
Install mod using the patcher.
Open steam and start game. That''s how I got it to work - steam simply had to be not running while I installed.

The files before already have the general soldiers health as -1/-2 but when you go to buy new hires it's looking at normal / easy for some reason. The only way around the bug is to hit esc while you're in the base overlay and change difficulty to classic / impossible again (even if you're currently on it) and then hire new soldiers. By doing this you will get the default health of 4/3 (classic/ impossible) soldiers for that set of hires.

I have done all that and I still get an error message "error@patching". I am using Winzip.

hey there,honestly i didn't think xcom has a "nexus" like skyrim does
love your mod btw hehehe...one question though,is the advantage of aim from enemies at different difficulty can be alter as well??
i really love to do some changes if it's possible by playing impossible BUT at a reduced aliens's aim to default and compensate it with doubles their health...
anyway i can do that with the current mod?

If you wanted to do something like that you would be best off to mod the game yourself, which is pretty easy to do. If you get the freeware program resource hacker and then use it on the game's exe , then go to RCData, 1020, 1033 you will be at the ini file that controls most of this stuff.
You can easily find what you're looking for there, but keep in mind that in that ini files that 'hard' is classic and that 'classic' in the ini files is impossible. So if you wanted to change impossible stuff you would need to edit 'classic' in the ini files.
Long story short, yes it's possible and yes they get a pretty decent boost and it could be worth toning it down. Some aliens get a total of over 40 defense which is like being in full cover without being in cover (the aliens base defense + the modded defense from the games diff)

ooh sorry i thought you included the program in the mod as well,sorry it seems i'm not paying enought attention haha
but yeah,thanks man,i never thought that it could be done,unfortunately i'm really bad at modding a game haha...so i think i'll wait until something similar are released hehe...or are you taking any request atm?

First, thanks a lot for the mod. Just installed and played it for a while but here are some issues I dealt with.
Abduction mission occured more often in the beginning but with only one satellite, I cannot track the UFOs causing them. As an effect, panic level all over the world increases much quicker. As a result, nations reach maximum panic very fast. After the first month already two countries withdrew from the project. Now in month 2, panic is at max in 4 more countries already.

I did say it makes the game harder. I know it is possible to get past it though because I won the game on classic using this and like you said it is a lot harder at the starter but it is do-able. I found it helped a lot to get to the alien base faster for the -3 panic world wide.
It helps with the 10 day satellite as well since you are able to get those up faster if so choose. Since you start with 5 engineers, if you pick your first abduction as the reward of 5 engineers you can build a uplink on the first month which in turn gets more satellites up.
