Yeah the game is much easier with those random starting stats, I have been just dismissing the rookies with bad stats and keeping the good ones. Decided not to use it for now might try your settings later.

Is it possible to cancel some Second Wave options after you started the game? I play with Marathon and I like it but now I have to cancel it =(

@resene
If you Want to restart because of the Bug with the base Mission, try this
Change the Marathon setting in the modfile to 1
Patch
Build
Save
Switch setting back

@dreadylein
Thanks for help...
You mean this string in DefaultGameCore.mod file
SW_MARATHON=2.0f
change to
SW_MARATHON=1.0f
right? So now we can fix this bug?

What else does Marathon change besides needing the 2nd Alien base?

@cloakedFigure
It pretty much doubles everything.

"Damage Roulette: Weapons have a much wider range of damage"
Has anyone verified that this effects enemies as well?

Damn, I love marathon mode so much more than vanilla!
We must find a fix!
Is there by chance a way to add more items in the game? A console, or a way to edit a save file, adding that extra item into your game manually?
That's the only thing I can think of... Hmm. Any chance we can figure out in a hex editor what value is required for that item, and place it directly into the save...?
Maybe if a save with the item were compared to one without, ugh sounds like a pain the ass!
Maybe a way to make two missions, but that sounds harder to pull off.

should be easy to mod the save, you would just have to search for the item and the crc and alter both proper
didnt had time to check but as the ressource requierments seems like beeing pulled every time you open up the building ui, you could try the following
Change Maraton setting to 1.0f
patch the binarie
load your save
start building
save
change marathon settings back to desired value
load
