Actually the modpatcher was not the problem sorry for the hasty assumption! Reinstalled steam applied it and it worked like a charm :)

still cant figure to work this thing. opened patcher and it added another "xcom-orginal.exe" in my binariies/win32/ folder. tried opening both "XComGame.exe" and "xcom-orginal.exe" but mod still not working....i dont see the second wave options when i start a new single player or satellites taking 10 days to build.

I am playing the non-ufo version and I find it perfect for my skill level. Normal is too just too easy now, but vanilla classic was just .... frustrating for the reasons you mentioned. Thanks for this.

I tried the non-UFO version (on classic) but I felt like panic levels were too easily managable. I want the original game balance as far as satellite and fear mechanics but I do not want aliens to have higher Aim and Critical values, that simply does not make sense and tilts the balance in a way that is not entertaining, only frustrating. I would really like to see a mod to do only that. Since this one already has done it bunched up with other stuff, I assume it would be fairly easy to deploy a third file with only that change? Me and and I am sure many others would be very grateful.
