TES5Edit is the fourth version of this program written for mod conflicts. In case you are not aware of the history, this program has been used with Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas, Oblivion and not Skyrim. I can't say why, but I don't think they would clean their masters with out software no matter how well it works. However, since our software does work quite will, even this version, now there is a tool that will kelp create a more stable gaming experience for everyone. So is there any way to get Beth to clean their own damn masters with TESVEdit and release them officially and cleaned in, say, the next update?
TES5Edit EXPERIMENTAL is now available for experience testers to try o

I was editing the Nires mods Honeyside, Proudspire, & Hjerim when I noticed the magically returning records. I have a lot of mods installed and not always do they play nicely with each other. In this case I also had Statics to Containers & Wardrobe Room were the mods that I was trying to remove records from.
I was on a cleaning spree, fixing and trying to make everything work together. If having a mod list would help or any other information I can try to provide, I am at your service. You guys are great, & I was ecstatic when I saw tes5edit available. Couldn't have lived without in with Oblivion, and hardly couldn't wait for it for Skyrim. Again, Thank you so very much.

Pride, I guess, was what I was thinking. A sense of completion of one's work. Especially if it's something as simple as following a tutorial written for just about everyone's difficulty level, but hey...that's just me. I know their history. I've been lost in Beth games since Morrowind. Why should they worry about it? They know the modding community will do it for them. When games are released console centric and ported to PC, the PC version always gets the short end of the stick. And I say that nevertheless with much love for Bethesda, because they have created some of the greatest games ever made. But consoles are still the bread and butter for them as well as many others. The HD DLC was a step in the right direction, but personally I'd rather see them release things like a cure for the navmesh bug.
Oh, and I love your screen name.
And, thanks.
oh, I know very well the Edit programs!TES5Edit is the fourth version of this program written for mod conflicts. And yeah, I don't see them doing it, either, frankly. I just thought I'd float the idea out there on the waves....

Even with over 5000 downloads there are only a few bugs overall. A lot of them are being fixed but TES5Edit will have increasingly accurate internal methods of cleaning esm/esp files. What we would like help with is; with each release clean your files from originals and provide us feedback. It will make a big difference in making sure that the routines are working correctly and insure TES5Edit's use in the years to come like FO3/FNVEdit have been used with little or no issues over the years.I'll also ask Sharlikran to write a note in the first post that with each new version of TES5Edit it is STRONGLY recommended to restore plugins from backups and reclean them. Otherwise any fixes and updates we make to cleaning process won't take effect.
I think "recleaning" will be required for the next 2 versions and also when Elminster will improve VMAD subrecord handling because it will allow to find even more ITMs.
There are almost no issues with cleaning even with the current first version considering almost 5000 downloads and sparse bug reports.

For end users I would stick mostly to just the automated cleaning. The advanced cleaing is really for mod authors. I'm pretty sure most people know about TES5Edit by now, but if you can do it in a polite way just ask them. Have you heard of this tool, there are Wiki pages, (that are still a work in progress) and it really makes Skyrim run a lot better. Let them clean the mod, and ask questions in our official forum. When the mod authors start asking more questions it will help us improve our tool even more.Sharlikran, thank you for your response.

Thanks we are happy to have updated it for Skyrim. I don't think we need a list of mods for now. Edit has only been out a week as of today and in the months to come everyone will have a better idea how to use the tool. With that, we will have a better idea of what to do with outdated mods, and Pre-Creation Kit mods.I was on a cleaning spree, fixing and trying to make everything work together. No the only thing I would pay attention to is post #96 in regards to restoring originals and cleaning your mods again after we release 3.0.23 of TES5Edit. Then provide feedback to insure our automated cleaning process is working smoothly.Quick question from a noob. I cleaned update and dawnguard correctly and I was wondering if I need to revert to the originals and clean them again if I uninstall a mod. I guess I don't completely understand what is happening when I clean a mod.
Yes it's best to post in the official thread. Also if there is a better place to ask my question point me in the right direction.

Post that in the official forum. It may be something inherent to the Navmesh. Which, Hearthfires has many, many, Navmesh issues that can only be resolved by an extremely advanced user. Not sure how we are going to handle that. There may be an Unofficial Hearthfire Patch similar to the Unofficial Skyrim patch, Dawnguard patch and so on. The Unofficial patches that I mentioned are not something I administrate though.I have cleaned Update.esm, Dawnguard.esm, and Hearthfires.esm and can say that for the most part the CTD's I was getting are gone. I know the cleaning algorithms are going to continue to improve but I did want to say that I still get crashes on the exterior of Rimerock Burrow and approaching the area where Morthal's BYOH is in Hearthfire.
