As much as I love the game, creating a new ones because i get a shitty start on ironman (steam directly under my starting uplink, or only steam on the bottom floor) is annoying and wastes a lot of time that i should be spent trying to not lose my game to real problems. Just a simple start that just places a steam somewhere on the 2nd level on the right and balanced pre excavated areas would be amazing.

It might be possible. t seems that somewhere there's something telling the game to put your elevator in the center of your base grid and it always seems to the left of it is a satellite bay.

I know where the setting is to say how many steam vents you can randomly have (3 by default). Since you can build anything on top of steam vents I guess you could just try setting that to 28 and then practically every tile should be a steam vent for you to use.
