If someone could do this kind of huge expansion and retexture, would be really great. Please add there more races, more ufos and more weapons and add-ons. Really really would be great to do it!!

or even new mission textures would be super!!

You do realize that people are still having trouble getting deep into the scripts and such, since they're encrypted, right? Asking for something this "heavy" and providing nothing in the way of help is unlikely to get you much in the way of responses.

Well ode111 i liked your comment, its a shame that new ideas like this are shot down, not everybody on this site knows all there is to know about modding, ok so ode111's idea was very big, and he might not know anything about modding but he\her obviously enjoys playing the game, and to me thats all that matters, enthusiasm, bright ideas, and playing the game, one day someone will do a total rebuild of this amazing game it might be a long way off but it will happen one day.

I'd be really surprised if these things weren't possible in the future.
Although, I'd be even more surprised if they became possible soon.

Right now, you can expect re-textures and re-balance mods in the immediate future. In other words, there's a lot that can be done to modify existing elements of the game, but adding new elements is all but impossible at the moment.
