Personally, I don't hate Nords. I just hate some of the Nords who give Nords a bad name. Like how some nords insult the dunmer in Windhelm.
I remember Brunwulf said something like "Don't let these Skyrim for the nords people fool you, most of us are happy to accept anyone in Skyrim" (it is not accurate, but at least that was the point). That means, not all nords are like that (think other human as lesser race, skyrims only for the nords, etc), it also proves that human are too complex to be generalized.

I don't play as Nords, usually I play as Breton. It's just because if I play as a Nord, I tend to think that all of the dragonborns are Nords.

By the way, am I the only one who can't tell the difference between Nords, Breton, and Imperial? I thought Delphine was a Nord, but it turned out she's a Breton. Then I thought Mercurio (the hireling from Riften) was a Breton, but it turned out he's an Imperial. Both Nords, Bretons, and Imperials look the same to me.

Tis the beauty of the 'Race Height Adjustor' Mod.....really helps in telling the difference.... ....Bretons are absolutely titchy compared to Nords....Imperials not much taller than Bretons really, but still noticeable enough.

Although I do not favor Nords per say, I like them better then the Altemers. At least the Nord's have a love for their lands. The Altermer invade Skyrim calling all people Dogs and everyone is beneath them. They want you to see the True Masters. Pshawq!!

As for Nords, I do not care for the Steroid ripped brutes that Bethesda left us with (for male characters). I neither find them handsome, appealing or "hot". I do not like playing as a beast or lizard, but I think the Bretons or more likely the Redgards make the best players characters, at least for looks. if you're going to goto or be drawn to Skyrim (whatever for is a mystery to me) you may as well have the calling as DragonBorn.

You confuse Altmer with the Thalmor. All Thalmor are Altmer, but not all Altmer are Thalmor. In fact, most named Atlmer characters in Skyrim aren't particularly fond of the Thalmor.

But i digress... The Nords are painted with the same brush as everyone else, being superior-minded, ethnocentric, arrogant and generally unpleasent on a social level. They don't like Mer because of quasi-mythic stories, they don't like other humans because they are (with the exception of the Regduard) part Mer, they don't like beast races because their beasts, etc. At the same time, they beleive they can do no wrong, and that they are right about everything.

Each and every race in Tamriel has a mentality about them that they are the superior people, and that their view of the world is the correct one. Each, of course, has a fragment of the bigger picture, though the Imperials have been better at putting the pieces together than anyone else. Even then, the reality of their situation is an individual revilation, and not something contained in social, historic or religious traditions.

Now, why do i personally disslike the Nords? Because i personally like the Dunmer. Dunmer culture, archetecture, art, history and philosophy is, to me, far more interesting that... well... anyone else. And the Nords and Dunmer have a rather unpleasent history, which since i favor the Dunmer means i don't like the Nords. I don't have any particular disslike of their culture, their history or anything, i'm just picking sides.

They are, however, not as honest as the Dunmer. Yes, the Dark Elves are violent, murderous, deceitful and generally unpleasent, but they don't pretend its something it isn't. They don't pretend NOT to be racist, nor do they pretend to like others who they view as inferior. I just find the Dunmer to be the most honest about where they stand, and Nords generally lack the same honesty.

I enjoy Axe/Sword dual wield chars. I just imagine that you could perform parries and such with a left hand sword and use the axe to smash stuff!
