Hello!

I've installed and played this mod : it's great fun! But it seems I have a glitch : my wounded soldiers magically heal when they go back to the base, even when they are critically injured. Though it makes my life easy, I would like to fix this, so the game stays a challenge. Any advice?

That sounds very odd. Is the soldier listed as critically injured when you're in the after-mission briefing-screen?

Depending on how far you're in the game, you may not have many "injuries" due to armor.
The way the wounded system works, you only get wounded when the aliens deal more damage than you have armor.
Take a Soldier of the Second rank with Basic Armor at 6 health (3 health / 3 armor), he gets injured when he gets 4 or more damage.
If you take a soldier in the early beginnings (4 = 1 health 3 armor) he doesn't get injured because he either dies or his armor absorbs all the damage.

The switch between health and armor that my mod increases in the beginning is important, as early on, soldiers are wounded for a very long time, and the intense combat either has them survive or die. So unless your soldiers have more than 4 health (or get "killed" and survive with critical injury) and still get back to base without injuries, there's no bug.

Oh alright, I didn't notice that my soldiers had only 1 HP (I've just started a new game). Still it's odd that I had the critically wounded soldier : it was a female rookie with 1 health point, et 3 armor points. Yet, she was hit and lied dying critically injured, but with 1 HP left. I managed to finish the mission before she bled out, but on the de-briefing screen she wasn't listed as injured, and I could play with the soldier right after.

Just tested and verified that you're correct. This occurs at the beginning, and only at the beginning. As soon as you gain more health (rank up), you'll get a larger vulnerability zone.

Thanks for pointing it out, I'll fix it in the next update.

I'm having a weird issue with soldier health:

I start a game on classic and all my soldiers suddenly start with 6 health. From what I understand of the mod notes, they are supposed to start with 4 health.

Any idea why this could be happening?

Thanks for making the mod, looks like great fun (once I get it up and running).

That's actually a pretty strong indicator that the mod's not installed properly. Do you use Steam in offline mode for the game?
In order to ensure fair-play in multiplayer, the game automatically updates the "xcomgame.exe" and you can't use any mod without offline mode or a specific workaround.

BlackAlpha has a very good guide on how to do both here:
http://forums.nexusm...howtopic=822597

Should your steam at one point or another try to "repair" the xcomgame, replace the modded xcom files with the backups, let him do the repair thing, make sure all the patches and updates are installed for a fully installed vanilla, and *then* follow the directions on either offline mode or the workaround, before you reinstall the mod.

Please tell me if this makes the mod function.

I think you meant to link to this:
http://forums.nexusm...l-support-v150/

It describes at number 1 how to start Steam in offline mode.

That did the trick, thanks!

Hope this will add some more replayability to the game for me. Classic has become too easy and Impossible is too tedious for me, so this looks good :)

So far the game is mostly different, neither harder nor easier. There are less enemies, but they are tougher, so it adds up to about the same.
They definitely fight smarter though, Sectoids position much smarter now... The computer suddenly likes using overwatch a lot more.

There is more choice involved in which abduction mission to take now. The bump in income from an abduction mission is big enough to be worth it... which is neat. Interesting choices = more interesting game.

And damn, longer research times means that South America just became important. Interrogations are valuable and take a long time.

Will try to give more nuanced comments once I've completed a game.
