Top module system or replace the map_icons.txt, for example player_horseman 0 0 player_horseman on player_horseman new_icon. Of course, the icon name is the name you need to add mesh to meshes.txt. Personally, I recommend the module system.

can you list names of your meshes? (player_horseman new_icon.)
