How do I get that missing Cobl Main.esm?

By downloading and installing Cobl.

Why do I even need Cobl?

Gotta love the n00bs, am I right?

After fixing both problems, here's the outcome:

It's still crashing.

When you adjusted your mods, did you re-run BOSS, and then rebuild your Bashed Patch? If your Bashed Patch hasn't been re-built, you're going to have problems. Would you post your new mod list, please?

When I fixed my problems, I did re-run BOSS, yes, twice actually. What's a Bashed Patch? If it has something to do with Wrye Bash, then please tell me, as I'm fairly new to using it. Here's my new mod list:

In answer to your COBL question you really don't need it unless you want to use a mod that requires COBL as a master. Otherwise it's a matter of choice whether you actually want to use it or not. A good rule of thumb before using mods is to read the mod description and/or read-me file to find out what the requirements are. Then you know what needs to be installed in order to make your mod work properly. You can usually find the info here on Nexus by clicking the little button titled "Required Files", which is right on the mod download screen.

One question for you before I go. How the heck did you even get the game to start with two missing master files? Every time I ever forgot a master it crashed immediately at the opening screen.

That was my mistake, you see. I used an .esp that required COBL when I didn't have it. Deactivated it already, though.

To answer your question: Because Oblivion loves me

All you wanted to know about Wrye Bash but were afraid to ask ... aka Wrye Bash Pictorial Guide.

3C Bashed Patch, 0.esp

That is a Bashed Patch, and yes it is a plugin used by Wrye Bash to integrate all the changes that mods make into one late loading 'mod', in layman's terms -- it does more than that. You have it in your load order, but as you are asking what it is, I must assume you have not actually 'built' it? That being the case, it is useless until you do. Take a look at the pictorial Wrye Bash guide for more information.

Wow, I'm closing to a tantrum right now.

I did your Bashed Patch thing, I re-ran BOSS, I used Archive Invalidation, NOTHING IS WORKING! It used to crash with a message. Now Oblivion just closes. I'm running out of ideas here.

I'm betting on either a missing master or a botched Bashed Patch. Did you follow the pictorial guide precisely?

What I did:

-Right clicked on Bashed Patch, 0.esp
-Clicked on "Rebuild Patch"
-Unchecked the mergeable mods that doesn't belong/will conflict
-Checked and unchecked what the guide told/recommended me to do on the left panel.
-Clicked "Build Patch"
-Re-ran BOSS

Here's my load order now:

You need to run BOSS *before* building your patch. Rule of thumb: if you install, uninstall, alter *any* mod, run BOSS then rebuild your Bashed Patch, in that order.

As much as I'd like to believe this will work, I'm pretty sure it won't like the OTHER attempts at fixing this. But I trust you, so I'll do it.
