@Ricemasterdave
Metallic bars without lines
Smoothly shaded hotslots that fade horizontally
Minimalist, not rough borders

consider making the background of the weapons/items a little transparent..and make the edges either soft or straight not both.i think this really lacks ..i dunno..artistic vision...to me it looks clumsy.thumbs up for making it anyway.Dark Souls need a better hud. oh..and why the high contrast? i mean...people usually want a hud that provides immersion not one that breaks it.and i agree with Ricemasterdave .

Unfortunately, my screens always look a good bit darker than they do in-game. It happens to all my games, for some unknown reason. The weapon/item backgrounds actually are just slightly less transparent than vanilla Dark Souls. The other stuff, ofc, is an opinion. You've made me think though, about ways to make the HUD as small as possible. I'll see about making the least intrusive HUD possible next...

Not disregarding your work or anything, but do you know what color blind means?

Yes. There are varying types, such as red-green or blue-yellow. The aforementioned colors can look very similar.

The color-blind version here relies on contrast rather than color, so the bar itself is very light, and the empty space is very dark. That way, anyone with trouble telling colors apart should easily be able to notice the contrast from light to dark.
