A few mod ideas

So i've been playing the game for a while and i've tried different mods and i thought, why not put my two cents in? So here goes. I'm going to put more than one idea here so as not to waste space with dozens of topics.

First of, everyone's favourite, weapons! More specifically, swords! Now, I've seen Zar'roc in Skyrim and Brisingr in Oblivion but the Inheritance cycle has many more weapons to offer.

For example:

Not to mention Galbatorix's

And Durza's

And Arya's of course, despite the abundant elven swords, I'd say it's worth it.

The Rider swords kind of make me think: "Now that's a Thane's sword!"

NextI would like to propose this:

Violet's sword. Maybe not entirely lore friendly but a nice blade all the same. Good for chopping heads, no?

And to conclude with the sword section... I've seen Roman swords, I've seen Samurai swords and even cutlasses and rapiers but I can't say I've come across a Khopesh

An Egyptian blade I think would make a fine addition.

Moving on to armours.

Firstly, I've seen many, many armour sets for women, lot of them skimpy, some with fur, others with leather but none have come across as proper Amazonian garb. My proposal is this, an Amazon set. I would suggest following the Xena pattern:

Basically fur, leather, not skimpy though a little skin can show, i.e. the abdomen and back. And topped off with headdresses of fur and horns/feathers.

Secondly, and here I hope I can describe it well enough because I've looked through hundreds of pics and found nothing suitable, is the Arm Guard. Now this is exactly what it sounds like, a shield but not like regular shields. A lot smaller by comparison but still larger than gauntlets/bracers. This would be a form of compact shield worn over the bracers/gauntlets of various armour sets, small and light, but sturdy to quickly block. I had in mind an oval shape maybe or maybe elongated, thinner at the wrist and wider as it went up to the elbow, the length should not exceed an average person's forearm.

And finally, comes a large selection of armours. I don't know how many of you are familiar with the mmorpg MU but it has some splendid looking weapons and armours. I'll edit this topic tomorrow after I've done more research on weapon and armour sets or make a new one so it won't be such a big topic, we'll see.

To any modders that find any of my ideas worthwhile, I thank you in advance.

Sorry for the long post but I don't have any potatoes.

I would say yes on the bracer thing. It would be a fun thing to have. you could easily repurpose some regular gauntlets and beef em up a little. makes perfect sense because if they are extremely quick to block you would block w/o realizing it. now that I think about. i will probably make some as a prototype.

Just no promises

sounds great rattlemebones but just to be clear there already is a version of bracers that act as shields but these are regular bracers used as shield, there's also a method of blocking without a shield with the use of a ring but that's another story. my intent was to suggest something that replaces a shield, something that goes over/on top of a bracer.

looking forward to anything you make and thank you.

...i hope this doesn't count as bumping.... i promise to just edit the first post when adding the MU armours and weapon ideas.

There is a mod out that I use that adds buckler versions of all the sheilds in the game to the blacksmith. I think it is exactly what you are looking for. Here is the link to the mod http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/5315 http://static.skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/images/5315-3-1325693202.jpg

I think these are perfect for light armor and assassin type characters.

well not exactly 100% but still very close... like 90%, thank you for pointing it out...buckler, UGH! the exact word i needed to search and couldn't find. thank you and sorry for wasting everyone's time trying to detail it. hmm, two down, two to go... i didn't expect such prompt and helpful answers.

i hope this doesn't count as bumping... if it does i'm perfectly ok with it being deleted.

Commenting on your thread isn't like to count as a bump. I just liked the look of the Khopesh and I found the picture of the one from Tutankhamen's tomb so I did it. I'll play around with making the one in your picture later tonight, it looks like a modern version. Interestingly enough it seems the khopesh is technically a form of axe that was introduced into Egypt by the Canaanites. I found my reference image here. Edited by Jennifur68
