Is there a mod that add's a menu like the one where you make your own character, but for NPC's?
I'd like to edit the appearance and race of an NPC but the Creation kit isn't too great for it, I can't change the hairstyle and I have to refresh every time to see a change.
Is there? I'd like to have them as a companion but they look weird and out of place.

Anyone know of anything?

Not sure what you mean by the CK isn't too great for it...it's exactly designed to do what you're asking. Open the character and go to the character gen tab...hairs are on the far middle right..select Hair then use the drop down to change them.

Another option is to use NPCEditor mod but it just does a quick render so in game will be different.

This. Are you using the previews in the creation kit? (So you don't have to boot up the game every time)

I was having issues with my preview not working in CK. Turns out it was the ENB files. Works flawlessly now :D

The creation kit won't give me any hair options, the dropdown only has Default, and the preview doesn't change when I edit the character.
And Serena, the NPC I'm changing doesn't show up in NPC Edit.
