Gameshardz makes an exceltent point, one that i noticed myself. To not be able to go into an enemy faction's territory is just like putting up an invisible wall that the creator of this video himself said he didn't like--

but i also agree that it's too early to bash anything yet-- after all we dont know how their making that happen, and who know's? they may change it before release as so many other games do (especially mmo's)

I have to agree with 459pm. I don't like the appearance or special effects of some of the attacks, such as the sword swing that leaves orange trails in the air. Unless I'm mistaken, that kind of thing hasn't been present in previous TES games and I don't know why they're using it in this one. It's not necessary and it doesn't fit the style. It makes it look generic, and that's a little sad.

I also agree with Gameshardz and others about the inability to enter enemy faction territory. If that remains in the final version of the game, it'll be a missed opportunity with regards to sneaking around where you shouldn't be and getting into fights with the people whose territory you're in.

However, I am interested in the idea of filling out a questionnaire to determine where you'll be placed in-game with your friends and other players. That sounds like a very good, useful idea and though it's not a very big part of the game, I'll be looking forward to how it's implemented.

Hopefully some of the things we're not keen on will be cut from the final version, but for now we'll just have to wait. :T

-Third person camera
-Automated targeting
-Active combat abilities
-Can't explore fully
-Shitty generic animations and effects
-Non-realistic art style

This is not the Elder Scrolls I was looking for.

So many generic effects and animations... I'm going to give it a try, maybe a 30-day trial or something, but even so this game is shaping up to be a letdown compared to what I expected.

Really? Come on...how is this any different than just turning down the game volume on WOW and listening to a CD of Jeremy Soule's beautiful music in the background?
I do not understand in any way, why there's a desire to take the Elderscrolls world and put it online.
Being able to explore everywhere I can see, go anywhere, do anything, jump in and out as I please, is the epitome of what the Elderscrolls series is all about.
Slapping a WOW face on the Elderscrolls IP (intellectual property) is nothing short of selling out and catering to a few vocal cross-over WOW fans who also happen to play Skyrim once in a while.
I absolutely LOVE the entire Elderscrolls series of games--and always will--but this online version is a stinking turd waiting to happen.
There's NOTHING new here.
It's WOW with Elderscrolls lipstick on it.

Lesson to heed Elderscrolls Online: Take a look at Star Wars: The Old Republic. Absolutely wonderful IP (intellectual property). Literally worlds upon worlds full of fascinating lore and story and all kinds of opportunities to make wonderfully entertaining games. It's "free to play" now.... ....which means it's dying and losing players by the millions. Not because of the beautiful graphics or IP lore or storylines.... ...it's the game-play. It's boring. It's WOW with different lipstick and facepaint. The Elderscrolls games are the landmark games they are because of GAME PLAY. Taking ES online will change the very crux of what made it successful in the first place.

Imagine if this games was exactly like TES, with the full world of Tamriel, the same gameplay, the same levelling style for the skills and atributes (more you use them, more stronger they are), with the races, imagine a guild system like other MMO's, but players can choose to join the Fighters Guild, the Mages Guild, and the others if they want, having the oportunity to explore the entire world as you like, and of course........................ lots and lots of Cliff Racers fliyng in the sky hehehe!!!
Sorry for my Bad English, it's not my primary language.

Just to emphasise the part I'm replying too.

I do not understand in any way, why there's a desire to take the Elderscrolls world and put it online.

From the player perspective some want to instead of have AI followers who are always awful in every conceivable way a more social and enjoyable experience playing with friends, personally I think if they want that they want a different game and instead of playing a different game instead they want this franchise to be destroyed and remade to their requirements.

From the dev's/publishers perspective, cash, moolah, wonga, dosh, redies, dough, pht l00tz, and finally complete and utter greed for the maximum profit over the longest period of time at the lowest conceivable spent time and effort.

As for the topic, think I conceive the product just fine.

If you don't want to play ESO, no one is forcing you to play it. Bethesda will continue to make Elder Scrolls games and you can choose to have nothing to do with ESO.

Sound fair? Of course not, because people like you will always whine.

@InuyashaFE And if Bethesda thinks ESO is more profitable then single player games and stops making them then what? :ohdear: I don't know about dantharp or anyone else but thats why I really don't like the idea of ESO.
