I tried to update to the 3.07 version and it completely broke NMM. I didn't realize it was this mod at first, and just figured I had too much or had unintentionally screwed something up, so I uninstalled NMM and reinstalled it. Nada. So I uninstalled Skyrim + NMM and deleted all the files for a fresh, clean start. I figured I needed to rework my mod list anyway, to make sure everything was recent and compatible. Spent 3+ hours reinstalling the game and was in the process of downloading mods so they were up to date, came to Interesting NPCs in the list, and about halfway through the download NMM had "an error and needed to close" and now refuses to open up at all! It stalls at the end of the X... I've tried Googling the problem, tried uninstalling and reinstalling NMM again (even though that didn't work the first time anyway). I'm at a loss.

I'm positive it's this mod because it's happened twice while trying to download this version. I've tried removing the 3DNPC files from the downloads folder in the NMM folder, since completely moving the "Mods" folder within allowed the manager to open prior to me completely uninstalling everything, it was just empty.

I would try and re-download an earlier version, which worked perfectly fine, if I could open NMM, but... I really don't want to redo all the installations for the game AND my mods, or to go without this mod, as it's a crucial part of my Skyrim experience now.

I apologize if this is the wrong place to post this. Is anyone else having a problem with the new version? I don't know what to do. :/

I had this problem too. Nexus froze after the download and then i wasnt able to open it up again after i had to shut it down. So the program gets hung up on trying to open and install the mod. In order to fix this issue, at least for me and hopefully will work for you, you cant just simply uninstall. Just uninstalling only removes the program and files associated with running the program. The Games folder where the mods are downloaded to and installed from doesnt get removed.

Heres my solution for this:

1. Uninstall NMM.

2. Find the Games folder Nexus downloads and installs to. (you can do a search in My Computer, or use the Find from the Windows Start Menu) You'll know which one is the right games folder because when you click on it the next folder should be Nexus Mod Manager>Skyrim(and any other games you have Nexus installing mods for)>Install Info and Mods.

3. Delete Install Info and Mods folders. (Since all i use Nexus for is Skyrim i just deleted the whole Games folder) I'm assuming this method should work as well since thats the reason NMM gets hung up on really huge mod files because it cant install properly from the download which is why both those folders should be deleted.

4. Reinstall NMM. Nexus will ask you to designate where to install the Games folder again and now it should work!

After doing this your mods you've downloaded using Nexus wont appear in the Mods tab of Nexus but they do appear in the Plugins tab. Your Mods WILL NOT be deleted for as soon as they are installed they exist in the Data folder of Skyrim the game itself. Hope this helps!!

Do mismatching subtitles count as bugs? Hope so.

Moris the Draugr says 'We founded the legion' and the subs say 'We founded the empire'.

No biggie, but just mentioning.
Loving the mod ;p

EDIT: after a crash and replay it seems it's only after the'close enough' response

In response to post #18886664.

I did it a little bit easier, I just went into the Nexus folder and deleted anything to do with the mod. After doing that I was able to open Nexus back up without re-installing or anything.

Hi,

Firstly, Wow, what an amazing mod! Some of the NPC's added have made me laugh, some cry, some angry and some happy! They are so well written and... well... interesting!!!

Sadly I am having a little bit of a problem with the quest A Rose Without Thorns, the one in Kynesgrove with Erevan and Hiram.

I'm at the part "Guard the Rear Flank" - I chose bear traps as my option.

The problem seems to be that the quest has stalled. Hiram is stood at the front alongside Roggi and Fareloth with 4 bear traps laid in front (being triggered by a patrolling guard)

Kjeld and Kjeld the Younger are stood to the flank with 4 bear traps also. Erevan, who I assume should be with them is sat in the tavern, drinking and moving around like normal, but does not interact at all.

Up the back road there are no bear traps (I have been past the cave, up the steep hill to the dirt track and there are none) and no "knights of the eight" attack.

Its not really game breaking, just makes Kynesgrove a little immersion breaking to visit, though I am really keen to find out what happens to Erevan in the end - so is there a way to fix the quest, clean it all up or restart it?

Thanks!

In response to post #18973184.

Since the quest is pretty self-contained and quick to do, the easiest way to solve the issue is probably to go back to your save from before you started it. If you're using a town overhaul for Kynesgrove, maybe try the training option as that doesn't alter the town itself (and it always works for me). And if all else fails, you can look up the quest and its stages on the blog (3dnpc.com), then set the appropriate stage in the console.

Im getting instant CTDs quen i try to load a saved game. I know its not just because of 3DNPC, but these errors related to 3DNPC are appearing in my crash log:

Property GabaniaFXLinkerRef on script ReverseWaterScript attached to (20500FE8) cannot be bound because <NULL form> (2002B2AC) is not the right type
Property BYOHRelationshipAdoptionFaction on script QF_DialogueAmsien_021C99F9 attached to DialogueAmsien (201C99F9) cannot be bound because <NULL form> (200042B0) is not the right type

Is there any known cause for these scripts to be malfunctioning?

In response to post #18973184. #18978649 is also a reply to the same post.

Thanks a lot - I ended up triggering it by accident, apparently the bandits had spawned near whiterun, I was on my way back and a huge mob ambushed me, and after killing them, I completed the quest! Very odd, but likely a minor bit of Skyrim engine weirdness! No mods affecting Kynesgrove, but plenty of others, I'm suspecting Breezehome overhaul as they spawned near the waterfall exit.

In response to post #18973184. #18978649, #19050319 are all replies on the same post.

Oh, right. That Breezehome mod does seem to have some interference with other quests, too. The waterfall as a shortcut seems to mess with quest markers sometimes. Though why the bandits would spawn there, I have no idea.

Hello,
I am very happy with this mod, however I encountered a bug yesterday, which may be due to a compatibility problem since I do not find a trace of it anywhere else..
I have met Raynes for the Vigilnte Quest in Lost Echo CAve, his first lines were good, but when I went to the point of searching for a way to lear a passage with the brazier, his voice has disappeared.
In the dialogue options I see the subtitles and I hear nothing, sometimes, he goes so fast i do not even have the time to read what he says. I believe I have met a lot of characters from this mod, but this is the first time I see this, it is like the character has no audio files. It is really painful to try to follow the quest when most of the dialogue is skipped.
Has anyone reported a similar problem, maybe with another character?
