I had a bug where I couldn't read the Elder Scroll (Blood) in the Dawnguard questline. So I used a console command to get past it. Problem is I'm now stuck with the spell effect from the moths.

Does anyone have an idea how to remove it?

I just got this silly effect on my character a few days ago. Went through this entire thread, hoping to see a picture and a spellID similar to what I'm experiencing, but no cigar.

It's very similar to the Flame Atronach effect. I tried that SpellID, didn't work. It's not fire. I tried Frost as well without success. Not sure what else could it be.

If anyone can help me figure out what the ID is, that'd be much appreciated. Posting pictures below...

My character has the Spriggan effect, except that I tried to add/remove console trick with every known spriggan fx without luck. It appeared in Tel Mithryn where are 2 special Spriggans so some of their effects probably transferred to me. These Spriggans seem to have their attacks disabled because I can't make them to attack me even if I use moveto command to move them from their cages.

This is the second time I have this effect - previously I used resurrect and recycleactor to remove them, but now even they don't seem remove it.

Edit: Recycleactor seems to work now, apparently if I undress my character before doing recycleactor then it doesn't always remove the effects. Wish there was a better way to do this, recycleactor removes some items and passive spells which then I have to re-apply via console.

any idea what causes this?

No mod "causes" it.  It's a vanilla bug.  It's more common with mods because they are running the types of effects on the player which exacerbate the issue.

The most commonly reported FX bugs have been fixed in USKP 1.3.0.   The scripts have been edited to short circuit if they are erroneously run on the player, which the vanilla game seems to love doing.

The ones fixed were:  Draugr Eye FX,  Ice Wraith FX,  Steam Centurion FX,  Spriggan FX.

I didn't think I was going to have to do many more but apparently everyone has gotten every type of FX attached to them...  More may be fixed in later USKP versions.

I always keep my unofficial patches up-to-date

Hello,

I'm french and i really love this topic, what a good idea !

I've got a problem since few weeks but the solution is not in what you said.

I have post it on the official skyrim forum but no reply ....

Have you ever seen this magic effect ?

Since a quest in dawngard i have a big magic aura like snow or magic wind.

I don't remember if it was the quest when you save the phalene priest from vampires or the quest of the master of vampire's hunters.

It's horrible when i play and i really want to play with this character (i've just bought dragonborn DLC).

Thanks a lot for any help !

OK - so I've looked all over and can't find anything like what's happened
to me - looks like I have a new "affliction" and need any/all help, please.

While in the Soul Cairn, I got hit with beams from a Floating Soul Gem
and I thought at first it was localised to the Soul Cairn, but as you can
see, it's now a permanent "feature" of my player.

I thought perhaps it was a bug and a result of one of the mods I have
installed - which is a very few, mostly higher-rez textures and the like.
However, I of course disabled them one-by-one and... Voila! No difference! :((

So if someone has seen this or has some suggestions/ideas/whatever,
please H E L P ! ! ! !

Many Thanks In Advance,

freyja

I had the soulcairn bug as well. Read here to fix it:

-----------------------------

I've got a permanent black smoke effect billowing from my char's torso. It doesn't appear to be the death hound spell effect despite the fact that I'm playing Dawnguard. Any help tracking down the spell ID to remove it would be appreciated!

@birchtree:

OMG - thank you sooo much! I was about to (OMFG! Noooo!) go back to the closest save

I had and re-do hours of gameplay/work to make this stop - it truly made the game unplayable

and that - that would totally suck. This works as a fix perfectly!

As one of my dearest and closest friends, SpongeBob, would say, "You're My New Best Friend!

Let's Go Jelly Fishing!'  :)    :)    :)    :)

Thanks again!

Luv & Hugs,

freyja

Hey, glad to hear it worked. ;)

Now if only I can get rid of this sodding deathhound smoke that's pouring from my poor Dunmer's loins...

(Update: This glitch appears to behave much like the Wispmother bug, so likely needs the same sort of scripting to fix it.)
