Bizarre enemy behavior

Has anyone ever experienced this. When a bandit or necromancer would spot you, they'd first unsheathe their weapon, then go on an endless loops of sheathing and unsheathing their weapon, and their "aggro" range seems to be shorter?

 

My mod list is incredibly long and I'm at work right now, but I thought maybe someone had experienced this before. At first i thought it had to do with immersive patrol, but I was able to reproduce the same behavior with the mod uninstalled and on a clean save.

 

Right now, my main suspect seems to be Live Another Life as I seemed to be able to reproduce the problem with certain starting choices (mainly "I own property in one of the holds" and "I'm a patron at a local bar")

I think it may have to do with something Wrye Bash did. I'm not 100% sure but this problem is wierd as hell.

 

I even walked into a bandit camp last night and I could talk to the bandit. They'd unsheathe their weapon when i did, threaten me, then resheathe it, and go back to the endless loop. Some bandits in the same camp would attack me on sight. Others sheathed/unseathed and when I got close it would initiate combat, but if I moved away they'd go back to their position and continue sheathing. :/

I am actually currently experiencing this problem. I don't have either of the mods that you were talking about either. Also, it only seems to happen on my one character's saves and not on the other's. Kinda makes the game unplayable right now. :/

I'm having this problem also. It's really annoying especially when fighting the bosses. It's no fun when they don't fight back. It's only happening to me on the PC version. Never had this problem on the 360 version.

 

Update:

Looks like the Magic Duels mod is the main culprit, at least for me.

Hi guys,

 

Do any of you have the Fight or Fly mod installed? For me this was causing the problem. If not, you can narrow your search down to NPC AI mods I suspect. The unsheathing is happening because periodically the enemies are not viewing you as a threat (for a split second or so) and then going back into combat mode.

any fix on this? i am having the problem right now i reinstalled the game 3 times and still the same no mods just clean install (after i reinstalled)

Did anyone ever find out what is causing this? this is happening to me. it happened after i installed and then later uninstalled left hand rings. I've narrowed it down to a conflict between Dual Sheath Redux and another mod. when i disable the Shields on Back option in Dual Sheath Redux the bug goes away as it's only npcs who use shields that this happens to. However, I would really like to have shields on their backs again for immersion reasons. Also, I read somewhere that it could be a conflict with body slot 60? i read that DSR uses slot 60 for the Shield on Back. So if you have another mod that uses slot 60 u might wanna check that. I downloaded bodyslots mod that tells u what items are in what slots but it doesnt show anything being in slot 60 when i have a shield equipped so I'm back to square 1.
