Robert: Hey Todd, did Steam initialized the pre purchase option for Dragonborn?
Todd: Yes, they did.
Robert: So we're going to be rich soon?
Todd: Uhmmm...we already are Robert?
Robert: *dances around a fire* we're going to be rich, we're going to be rich...
Todd: Robert, stop acting all childish!
Robert: money, money,money...
Todd: Stop doing that, please...our users can see you.
Whatever, I'm feeding the machinery for user karma. Hail to the Dragonborn.
The best thing about it is, we probably don't have to face numerous X-Box bugs...

Most of my friends stopped playing Skyrim months ago.
Those poor fools.
One does not simply stop playing Skyrim

Not just for the steam sale...I will be waiting for the mods to be (hopefully) updated to remove any incompatibilities.

They never promised HD. There is a lot of stuff that people said they promised but they actually never did. Plus, Skyrim is the most optimized of almost every game I played. It runs better than NV, FO3, Morrowind, and Oblivion. So that in mind it is a good console port. Though I don't recognize Skyrim as a true consoles port. Sure, it was mostly developed on the 360, (90% of the development was on the 360) but there are so many variables to change in the settings and such. A console port that has quite a few variables to change that I recognize as a true console port is GTA IV. The game when released was horrible buggy, and almost unplayable, and still is. It runs horribly on my PC (as well as everyone I talked to) which can run 4k Textures and 150 mods with no problem. I had to wait a year and a half for that just for the PC release, and I know the same will happen for GTA V, so I refuse to buy it for PC. (might as well get it for my 360)
Anyways, it is 3AM here, I really need to go to sleep.

I'm a little baffled as to why they would offer a pre purchase. What is the point? I can buy it now and not play it until the 5th or I can buy it on the 5th and play it on the 5th. There's no price difference, it's a digital download so it's not like they will run out of copies. If there is a difference other then them taking my money several days before they let me play the dlc, please do educate me.
It's more like they are wanting us to front them some money before they give us the dope. They's drug dealers now gonna cap us if we cross son. I know that's right... ya heard. Word.
Next thing we know Steam will be randomly appearing on the side of the road with some of that sweet moon sugar.
Not gonna lie, I prepurchased it anyways but I don't have a problem. I'm not an addict!!! Is it hot in here? Man, I feel all itchy.

LOL, pre-purchased it instantly... but why?
As numerous people said before: There was no benefit from doing so.
