@Shannon: Rikke, Galmar and Ulfric always get to me too - no matter which side of the CW you play. The end doesn't leave you with a very good feeling.

Talked with Svari (the little girl in Solitude) about her Mother not going to to Temple anymore. So I went and spoke with the Mother and managed to convince her to start going back, she seemed to cheer up and the girl was happy. My character felt like he had done something honestly good for the family. Over the following month both parents and Svari treated him like a member of the family, talking to him, sharing meals and attending the burning man festival. Then he got offered a job to track down some bandits. So he left town and set out after them.
Week later, he walks into the outskirts of Falkreath and the Courier comes running up with a letter. He took and read it as the messenger ran off, was about an inheritance notice. 100 gold. I honestly paused for a moment when I read the second page.
It was from Svari, she'd died sometime since we'd left Solitude.
So far he hasn't went back to Solitude in case he runs into her parents. He doesn't know if he could face them.

Oh it wasn't about it being your fault. It was Vilkas being Vilkas. You were already a member of the Inner Circle, not just some runt who just joined. The game lets us rise in rank too fast, so that gives us the sensation of "I just got here and I'm your leader already", but try to see it as a more gradual process. At this point, you were already someone trusted, and close to the Harbinger. And you were out with Aela doing missions that Kodlak disapproved of.
But again, it's only Vilkas dealing with loss in his stubborn, fiery way. While Farkas, the big guy, just sits in silence. As for being in their headquarters... That's probably the issue. They were all drunk. And didn't the city guard notice a pack of heavily armed people marching in?
No, I was out doing a mission for Kodlak at the time of his demise, I get your point sisterof it's just that I don't relate any touching moments with the Companions as heart touching. And you are right it is a whizbang journey that seems like it was rushed and therefore it is not an endearing experience, I only joined to be a werewolf and to find a werewife
They could've done so much more for the Companions by just sticking a few more "mandatory" mini-missions in between the main ones. You know that way you'd do at least 5 missions BEFORE becoming a member of the inner most circle of trust. But in the end I assumed they rushed it so people could get to werewolf faster.
IMO they should've just made it possible to gain lycanthropy outside of joining the companions. That way if I have a character who should be a werewolf but the warrior guild isn't his groove....then he won't have to join them.
Have a look at Hircine's Daedric quest... ![]()
Yeah, the Companion's storyline wasn't really meant to be touching I think, it was more about glory than companionship (which is ironic).

thats actually...pretty depressing.
hope she wasn't soul trapped. soul cairne is the one place i consider as bad as venus.
and venus is a terrible place.
i don't have a most moment in skyrim, rather its the little things: esbern's dream speech, kodalack's journal, "the next world will have to take care of it's self," a few stories from the books, the list goes on.

Mine was in the quest "Lost to the Ages", which is part of the Dawnguard DLC.
You enter this Ruin and hear a voice say "Turn back Now". As you move forward you come accross this ghost of a scientist / explorer that died there Katria. She continues to tell you her story, how she discovered writings of a forge made especially to for Artherium weapons, and how her dunmer colleague stole all her work and published it under his name. She then desperately started searching for the forge itself, during which she died.
I was so touched and saddened by her story. I later had the satisfaction of coming accross her old colleague and sending him to the Viod to meet Sithis!

Lifelong dream of pushing drugs!
Heimskr is one of everyone's favourite butt monkeys, but after the Battle of Whiterun seeing him return to his crazy sermon was very vindicating. He's in rags, the biggest casualty of the assault was his own house that stands there in smoking ruins but he's not bitter nor sad, just pitches himself a tent and goes right back to work. To me it was the essence of the cause - you may take our lives, but you'll never our freedom!
Oh and another time, I was in Windhelm and there was a vampire attack. Teldryn Sero was my companion at the time and one of his stray fireballs hit Rolff Stone-Fist. The fight ended and Rolff decided to take it up with him, punching him in the back while he was talking to me. So Teldryn turned around with a 'Filthy Fetcher' and proceeded to beat the living crap out of him.
I killed that annoying little Heinskr, he annoyed me that much. LOL

In the dragonborn dlc, Storn Crag-Strider sacrificed himself and got tricked into giving up the skaal's secrets to hermaeous mora, he lost both his life and the secret the skaal has been protecting for centuries just so I can defeat miraak, Im surprised her daughter didnt immediate flip on me for vengeance

I don't know if it's heart warmingor not. But I enjoy helping Erik in Rorikstead become an Adventurer. Shortly after taking him on as a follower to "Train" him so he won't end up as a city guard from a simple arrow. It's gratifying to help people.
The most heart warming moment is the whole questline of Dawnguard where the dovahkiin and Serana become friends. It's enjoyable but I also regret that she is the only character you can ever draw a freindship with. Why does it take but a single quest to be marriable for almost all others? Sucks but At least Bethesda gave one good line.
