Re any not-compatible mods in the list, might it help authors' future development (on either side) if people chime in to summarize what they see in the playtesting? Ideal reports would be from single-variable changes, running DCO and/or just one other dragon-affecting mod. Runs should be played on separate sets of saves, never deactivating/uninstalling a mod once it has touched a save series. (Which is how someone should play with *any* mods, but I digress.) An approach requiring 4 sets of plays: -Play with each separately for a while, get used how they each behave. -Play one series with DCO over the other dragon mod in the order, observe for a while. -Play a different series with DCO under the other dragon mod in the order, observe for a while. Avoid console commands during the plays since that can introduce other variables. "Testing is hard!" -Barbie "Back off Barbie, we're flying monkey scientists."

In response to post #7566231.

Totally agree there LD, but I'll take what I can get. My concern is that most users are never going to do detailed step by step testing. Now, of course the true flying monkeys will and they usually already know how to do it . I love seeing detailed reports about what a person tested, how they tested it, little things they noticed, potential issues, blatant bugs, etc...

:brainstorming:

I do want to be careful not to scope creep the sticky into a full blown guide on how to do unit, system and regression testing with mods in Skyrim. Best to let other more technical guides handle that and/or people can argue over best practices for testing DCO with other mods in the comments.

However, I can see adding a few general tips to the sticky, such as your 'never deactivating/uninstalling a mod once it has touched a save series' example, but anything beyond that should link to an external guide or remain a comment, imo - certainly not to insinuate that it's bad content, just that it's not directly relevant to the main sticky. Know of any good Skyrim mod testing guides, btw?

My primary goal here is to give DCO users a general idea of what they can expect to happen with DCO and other mods, while hopefully cutting down on redundant questions in the main forum - more room for glowing testimonials

Upcoming changes:

1. Need to add DSAMG and Dovahkriid - The Dragon Lords at some point
2. Note the guide does not attempt to cover cross-compatibility with listed mods
3. Add brief, general testing tips/tricks/relevant console commands.

Oops, miscommunication there sorry 7C! I meant not for you to change anything, but if *other* people were planning to post more comments in this disc like we're doing, it would be good if they add any concrete/relevant feedback/observations. Like, I'm in the process of co-running RTFT and DCO, and I will make a new post here when I have something to report!

Sounds good - I was really just brainstorming in text to get my thoughts out, so not so much a miscommunication as you sparking ideas in my head. I realized I hadn't really defined the scope of this article and I'm thinking of doing some rearranging anyway. Testing with RTFT sounds great, I haven't used that yet at all.

lol "defend your claims in the rancor pit"

That's the most accurate description of the process that I've seen yet.

While doing some searching for mods like the others linked above, I stumbled onto this here: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/32073

Looking through it and I'm pretty sure it should be compatible, I'll test it and make sure, though I don't know if I'm really brave or really crazy for wanting my butt handed to me more often. Is it bad that I really like how Apollo smacks us around with this? I might also throw the swarms in just for extra screams so that it may appease him. :o
