UESP will give you a list of Merchants (rather an odd list in many ways but it does show all booksellers and traders who buy books.) I'd suggest you try Jobasha, Galbedir and the booksellers of Balmora and Ald Ruhn first.

Jobasha is whom I was going to suggest. He has a lot of books and many rare ones (as his store's name suggests: Jobahsa's Rare Books)

the easist way to get the book back is to go outside Maar Gan and go into huleen's hut and kill the scamp inside, talk to the naked man and then go back to edwinna for some reason the game glitches up and she gives you another copy of the the book and all the missions between this one and when she gives you the book back are already completed, anyhow this works for me in the PC version but xbox i dunno, try anyway...

I'm not sure any of that will work, if I'm thinking of the right quest.. the quest requires that you steal a specific book from a specific location. A generic book would not work, since it doesn't have the unique script on it.

There are three "Chimarvamidium" in Morrowind. Once you got one of them, you should complete the first part of the quest.
Now, for the second part (return the book) you will have to put it in the chest where Sirilonwe's Chimarvamidium was.

Just in case you're gunna look for it again, minor correction, it's in Sirilonwe's quarters in the Vivec Mages Guild, not Ald-Ruhn.

Vivec has a mages guild??? god vivec is just to big i spent like 2 hours wondering around on the one main quest where he tells you to go talk to the people. I was lucky i found a morag tong guild house or whatever in like Sadrith mora or i would've never known it was in vivec

:oops: hi. im new here. basically, i am on this mages guild mision for edwinna elbert or whatever in the ald r'hun mages guild to find a book called Chivararandamirr or something of the sort from Sirilowne in the Vivec mages guild and found that i had already taken the book and sold it. is there some way to check a "sales record" of sorts?

(btw, i have morrowind on xbox)

i would wast every one that sells books in the game or restart from a earlier save

btw i heard from a x-boxer that u can download mods and use on the xbox version of morrowind is that true ?
