I would offer another vote for seeing the deployed portable skinning kit look visually different in some way so that it's both clear it is deployed but also so it's a bit easier to spot around my woodland campsites. I was thinking a laid out kit would look really sharp, but to keep from having to create a new model/texture, what about if it just used the same model as the skinning/tanning rack?

I think it would be good to have a portable skinning rack option in addition to the skinning kit (I mean the rack that improves pelts/leather). Making a portable version of the rack would allow players to set one up in their player homes. Frostfall allows players to build tanning racks out of three pieces of firewood. I think something similar for the skinning rack in your mod would be terrific. It could be set up and torn down the same as the skinning kits and could use the same model/texture as the skinning rack currently (the tanning rack look).

Cheers, I didn't see it mentioned so wanted to bring it up just in case. I see you have a ton of really cool stuff in the pipe, so not too surprising it's already on your list.
I don't know anything about modding per se, but if there's anything that I could do to help you with your work on this mod, like as a tester, etc, I'd be happy to help where I can, just PM me. This mod is what got me back onto Skyrim, after finding the game fairly boring in its vanilla state (I'm buttman from Steam).

Thinking about this a bit more this weekend, what about just modifying the portable skinning kits to also function as portable skinning racks, allowing pelt and leather improvements from the same tool, but perhaps only the Expert model should be able to do it? Or maybe a skinning kit can only improve pelts that can be skinned on it (and of course leather). Just an idea. I've got everything except for a skinning rack carried with me or on my horse now, so that's the last item to become a totally nomadic hunter with no reliance on Whiterun visits.

Great Mod, I'm enjoying it a lot, it's a shame that beteshda didn't add a hunters guild in skyrim, even more with all those creatures available to be hunted!. I recommend you to see this mod: http://skyrim.nexusm...om/mods/22745/?, I use them for tracking animals and it's pretty cool, maybe you could add them or improve them (working with the author or asking him first of course) .

I read on your web site that you are thinking of a way to how to point out to the dens around Skyrim.
My idea would be to make an umbrella quest that eventually would take you to all dens, given by Elrond, don't remember his name. After reaching a certain number of hunting and skinning point you would get a mission that would send you to the dens in search of new animals (I've only found two, black sabre and cave bear). This could be done by a quest marker or by a map, like for the treasure maps. The missions could be activated by spending certain number of skill points or, if that's too difficult, by increasing hunting/skinning points (for ex. the first mission after 5/5 points the second after 15/15 the 3rd after 30/30 and so on in a progressive way) or by activating missions after each increase in guild rank. As an incentive, on the first mission (umbrella mission) you should indicate how many dens there are to discover and keep a counter.
Edit: forgot to say that "Diseased" mod isn't compatible. Every time that mod spawns saliva (randomly by percentage) in loot you will not get a carcass but the vanilla loot system, although the kill is registered, which is weird.

I like your mod but wanted to add a bit of diversety to the comments/suggestions (so sorry, for pointing out mostly things I didn't like):
Personally I found the skinning system nice in theory but soon turned it off (thanks for making that possible btw). The reason is that it actually takes an ability I previously had away from me (to gain certain items without going to the guild hall first) and thus feels more like a suddenly imposed punishment rather than a rewarding mechanism.
It's your mod of course but I think it would feel more natural (for gameflow not for realism) to be able to skin all the vanilla animals from the first portable skinning kit and only add benefits to the advanced versions (like faster skinning or chances for additonal pelts/claws/teeth, items for trophy crafting.. and such).
Also: Getting contracs for collecting horse hides is annoying me greatly, since you can't really "hunt" horses in skyrim and having to collect them from vendors/dungeons seems pretty awkward for a hunter. (If you don't want to change the radiant quests.. maybe add an option to fail/abandon a mission and get a new one like in the thieves guild).
And lastly: The pay for the common contracs is rather meager and there is little incentive to completing them if I would gain more money (and crafting skill) by using the pelts for myself. Imho it would be nicer if the payment would at least be higher or if there was even a chance for random other items (some arrows, a potion, some random enchanted item.. stuff like that).
There's also lot's of cool features of course (like the hunter's visison or spending points to gain more abilities for hunting). So sorry for sounding so negative. I really like what you've done so far. Thanks for making the mod and please keep up the nice work.
