If the game (pitifully) will be multiplatform, I beg Bethesda release it only to the 'next gen' of consoles, because we're tired of outdated graphics from 2007... Skyrim looks like almost Oblivion with mods while it could be a better game if it didn't be released for consoles as well. We want only the best technologically possible to Fallout 4 from scratch, lead the rest to us and our modding skills and we will not disappoint you.

I think Toronto would be a cool place to stage the next Fallout game. In talk of the commonwealth, a place called " 'Ronto " is mentioned in Fallout 3 (I think by Mr. Zimmer at Rivet City). It would be cool to finally explore the commonwealth. Plus Toronto is one of the largest cities in North America (fourth largest, after New York City, Las Angeles and Chicago) and would feature an urban environment on a larger scale than was seen in the DC ruins of Fallout 3. The lakefront in Toronto would provide a cool place to explore (and sight-see) and be the means for a new DLC.

Hopefully nothing to worry about, I think Bethesda's going to finish working on their Elder Scrolls MMO until its release late this year before putting Fallout 4 back on the front burner. Seeing as the consoles are also coming out late this year we're pretty much (hopefully) guaranteed a next gen release.

temgru, you nailed it.

In fairness, the reason why the Capital Wasteland was still so f***ed was the Super Mutants. Without them it would have been a much more stable region.

I don't have too much of a problem with how NV is not a completely decimated wasteland. The desert, and especially its inhabitants, is notoriously hardy and I feel would bounce back relatively quickly. As far as the economy goes, I think Mr. House was better prepared for the apocalypse; and with an army of robots was able to restore relative order. I do think there should be more smaller independent groups, but it's logical that for the most part they were either decimated by the legion, swallowed up by the NCR, or bought by Mr. House. And I agree with temguru that it's about the post-apocalypse.

Mention on the vehicles topic:

Driving around the wastes of the new Fallout game would take away a ton of suspense don't you think? You'd miss great details and events that way.
Fast Travel is additionally a suspense killer.

Idea? If it is located in a New York like setting then I think Subways and L-Trains would be a perfect way to address both of these topics.
They could contain other passengers, vagrants and Thugs like you ran into in Freeside from time to time. They could also breakdown and force you to walk the rest of the way etc.

well the New Vegas timeline is much more in the future than in the Fallout 3,besides in Fallout 3 the area was devastated by Nukes while in New Vegas the story says Mr. House have a anti Missile-Nuclear Ballistic thingy that stopped the Nuclear's from hitting the ground (although still some few Nuclear's manage to drop in the ground),in my opinion FNV was made what it is and FO3 is made what it is,they both have different areas and different scenarios on what happened to that place.

fast travel is a suspense killer? well you want to play the game without ever using fast travel again? i think if they remove fast travel then everyone will cry i mean many quest needs you to go back to the NPC that has given you the quest so you wouldn't want to spend your 30 min. just going back and forth into the wastes.

Whole body sliders and a range of body types...height, weight, bust size, muscularity, etc.

For them to realize a script extender is going to be made for it anyway and try their best to beat us to the punch by including all the expanded scripting anyway.

The broad open feeling of Morrowind, including lots of dialogue, choice of races, changes in experience based on race.  I'd also like large urban centers with lots to do so it's not -just- a wasteland.

I'd also like for them to realize we like mod packages.  We like everything to be in a single file that makes it easy for us to install and uninstall them without worry of totally messing everything up.  They should somehow do work on making the omod process easier for new modders and those who'd like to include choices in the installation of their mods.

I'd also like the feeling that something other then -just- trying to survive has been happening since the great war.  FO3 was better for this then NV was.  I would wander around thinking that some of these places have not only been around for a good while but have even -survived- the great war and populated for a good long while...but still cluttered and messy as if it happened not all that long ago.

With Bethesda owning the the franchise, I'd like for them to address some of the inconsistencies of the setting as well.  We've got old school monitors and such and the miniaturization of electronics never happened; trapped in a world where the computers are still huge; yet we've managed cybernetics and holograms and robots with more computing power and storage then their computer counterparts.  It'd just be nice if they decided one way or another or said that the more advanced tech was not as rare as the setting might imply.

I'd also like the option of house themes again or for them to look at the decorator/build-your-own-home mods that exist out there and just make it a part of the game where you can construct your own place; or at least clutter it with accuracy.

Finally, not only would I like to see a ride range of armors and weapons like many of the other players here; I'd love for a wide range of additions for them as well as customization.  A shop where you can get your gear painted.
