hate to tell you any game you buy now a day, the disc doesn't even have the game on it, just an Exe to a web link. I share you sentiments on the topic of installing FROM THE DISC, the last game I had that installed from the disc was FO3. :( But what I would love to see them do is make a very dynamic game, joining of factions multiple arc stories that are deeper than the ocean. Realistic graphics, well as good as you are going to get, PROPER animations such as holding weapons, not this "you have to break you hand to get it" pose. I'd also like to see from Bethsoft, supporting sites like this one, if it wasn't for the modding community these games wouldn't be where they are today. I know for sure my FONV would be collecting dust if it wasn't for the Nexus... and Millenia.

Here's my wish list for fallout 4:

To not be released half assed. I want a stable game that does not crash do to just saving your play through.

I want a game that does not randomly crash to desktop with no error code.

I want a game that does not dramatically drop your FPS do to cell changes even on the higher end computers.

If none of they above can not be accomplished then I rather not have a fallout 4 release until problems above are solved.

Fallout 4 for October 2014 would make sense, but what are they going to release for fall 2013? Brink 2 (lol)? Dishonored 2? I bet they've been working on FO4 for quite some time now. They don't work on one product at a time. October 2013 could be totally possible imo.

I get that people want the option to not play on steam. Honestly, that'd make more sense to me. Letting it be optional. But still, Steam is a great service and allows unlimited downloads of games you own (which should of course always be given/standard, but you'd be surprised what other companies like sony via the PSN think about that). There's really no reason to hate steam itself save for the fact that game devs make it required to use it sometimes. After using it for so many years and briefly using the horrid Game for Windows Live, you can see why almost no games are using it now days. Disallowing mods, having a terrible way of distributing DLC (I literally tried for two days to get the DLC for FO3 before giving up and dusting off an old eye patch).

I hope that they just started recently, at least recently enough so that it is designed around the next gen of consoles. I just don't think I can handle another Fallout designed primarily around seven year old technology. I did a fresh install of Skyrim a few months back and I played around on vanilla for a bit before loading all my mods back in and the difference between the vanilla game and mods like SMIM and with texture overhauls is humungous. I thought I accidently started Minecraft.

Well, considering the ammount of folks around here that enjoy using Steam and all benefits/convinience it gives them, my proposition is to make Fallout 4 work selectively on either option you choose. Both parties would be happy.

I would surely enjoy having F4 separate from Steam.

I'm pretty sure they gonna roll it on their updated Gamebryo engine (Skyrim).

I'd like Bethesda to build the world and then hand it over to Obsidian, the most important thing in an RPG is the writing and Bethesdas writing is terrible. Look at Skyrim, a pretty world with nothing whatsoever of any interest in it, a clichéd story, two dimensional characters and companions that were no more than limited robots. I don't want Skyrims god awful UI or Mr Potato Head character generator either.

I get the feeling that Bethesda will likely pay attention to sites like this and see what mods are popular and hopefully implement the best mods into fallout 4.
