In response to post #7787139.

Its always good to try and think of improvements so I will encourage you to keep doing that :). Do not worry too much about what is possible and what is not, given enough time and dedication almost everything can be done.

Now if I understand correctly you want to

Hold ALT+1 for 3 seconds to save your current equipment to slot 1
Tap ALT+1 briefly to restore from slot 1

This can be done but there are some things I don't personally like about it:

1. It is not easy to learn how to use this. People who are used to hotkeys will have little problems but others might find this extremely confusing.
2. The normal favorites do not remember in which hand you had a weapon or spell when you bind the hotkey and will almost always equip it in the wrong hand, at least thats how it feels.

May I ask why you want to use the old hotkeys? There are more loadout slots than vanilla favorites and a loadout can equip two weapons at once instead of just 1. In addition to that, the old favorites menu is still accessible and you can have items in there that do not fit in a loadout because you use them rarely, but still want to have quick access to.

What Ahvaren said... Some would want this mod to change all gear on the fly, for example 1 would switch to melee gear (sword + shield + all heavy armor) while 2 would switch to all spell casting gear (2 spells + gear that enhances magicka and spell damage). However others will want a more simple config where ONLY weapons/armor are changed upon pressing 1-0 instead of both (I use binds for items that are not used as actual gear and this mod interferes). It should be easy to do, for example use globals. I would recemmend SkyUI for its MCM addition but as you've already stated you don't want to use SkyUI. So an item would have to be used instead so that when equipped all the toggle options appear in a message. :)

Thank you. Correct me if i'm wrong, but we would only have 9 hot keys available. If Alt-# sequence is done as I mentioned above, we have potential for 18.
My character is a spell caster, using a little more than sword and shield. As you can imagine, I am constantly changing spells depending on the threat. Hopefully, you see where getting at. Never-the-less, the mod as-is, is helping me tremendously. Thanks again!

I think you should be fine in most combat situations with 5 slots by doing for example
1: dual cast dmg
2: heal
3: trap spell/conjure
4: buff
5: sword/shield

then in your favorites menu put
fire dmg and lightning dmg
when you need fire, hit 1, hit Q, equip fire dmg and do ALT 1.
when you need lightning, hit 1, hit Q, equip lightning dmg and save with ALT 1

At least that is what I assume to be a common scenario when playing mage so I'm probably wrong according to you. What spells do you use frequently?

how about making this mod work with a controller? even just having the left and right favorite thing with the D-pad would be a good start

In response to post #7794171.

I hoped it would work in 0.09 but I suppose it doesn't. I do not have a 360 controller to test my code so its kind of hard to implement it. I will try and see if I can get one.

I agree, the D pad is a good idea, since you wont need it for switching spells or items anymore. I think its linked to the up/down/left/right keys in some way. Maybe link in the options with SkyUI because thats what most people use for controller setups.

Superb mod Deazurain - but I actually think that this is more of a 'convenience' mod as opposed to 'immersion' because although it does cut down menu time a lot, the instantaneous switching of entire armor loadouts even whilst running is hardly immersive or realistic.

If you want to go down the immersion path some more, you could maybe in a future update get help (if you are not experienced in this field) to build some sort of brief animation which plays between loadout switches, for example short leg and hand adjustment movements and/or a slight bending over animation.

I think that would make this mod absolutely spot on.

But that does not bother me too much because the functionality of the mod is what is most important I guess.
