In response to post #7883600.

You forgot having enough money in their pockets to buy a small nation and force its people to fight to the death with hotdog carts.

Doesn't really seem like a side-story to me, MrRobot. It seemed like more of the over-arching background of the story. Dragon Storyline hinted and pointed to it. Civil War storyline threw neon signs at it. Jeeze, side conversations spread throughout the game hinted and pointed at it. They really set that up to be just as big a threat as the Dragons but... just kinda let it sink into Oblivion and rot there silently.

That's sad, coz both Fallout 3 and Fallout NV had a lot more DLCs than Skyrim :( so i was hoping for at least 2 more, well that's it with Skyrim then

Exactly what I've been saying. Bethesda only cares about their money. How many years ago did Oblivion, FO3 and FOV come out? Those games are still buggy even after all the updates and patches. I'm not buying the next Fallout game until they properly debug it.

...It bugs the hell out of me to make 3rd party activation a requirement when you buy a disc with a product key. Having said that, once registered you can play any game you downloaded without being connected to steam, so them going out of business is not a problem and in any case highly unlikely.

I disagree. Steam copies of Skyrim have a "offline mode" that doesn't work for crap. I bought the game legitimately from Best Buy and had to register it with Steam. Whenever my internet was out (for not paying the bill or whatever) or simply couldn't connect to Steam, I couldn't launch the game. In this situation, I would choose the "play offline" option but it still wouldn't launch the game without being able to connect to Steam.

I think it's wrong to pay for a game and not be able to play it without being connected online to a 3rd party.

@EnigManic, while I agree that it is a pain in the ass, if you read the tab on steam entirely you will see that you HAVE TO BE ONLINE in order to go into offline mode. Once you are in offline mode you can absolutely start Skyrim or any other game in your library whether you paid your internet or not:) There is by the way a mod that fixes this so that you do not have to be online to switch to offline mode; I do not have a link but if your search for it you should be able to find it.
