That is old data and only includes retail sales. We don't know how many PC copies were purchased via Steam, and they aren't going to tell us. This is a gross misrepresentation of the actual relative platform sales numbers.

Consoles pay $10 more for much worse visuals, 30FPS, and no mod support. That is hilarious.

From the little bit I gathered from this thread, I'd wager people are more upset with a sudden end of DLC content than with the overall quality of the game. People are just venting. I can't really blame them. The abrupt end to DLC just feels odd.

I'd argue it was a poorly calculated move by Bethesda to end its DLC content when the community had been anticipating the announcement of the next one. Either they miscalculated, or DLC wasn't bringing in enough sales.

In response to post #7900873.

I think it may have more to do with the impending arrival of the next generation consoles. I'm guessing they received development kits for those, and have diverted resources to work on games for those platforms, instead of supporting the generation that is soon to be obsolete. There is at least some learning curve for a new platform, so an early start is better than a late one. Ultimately, it comes down to whichever approach they believe will generate the most revenue for the lowest cost.

I like how you keep picking out quotes and starting a new post to try and appear correct. Calling it "riddled with bugs" is an opinion, as "riddled" is akin to many adjectives in that it's relative. It has too many bugs for you, that's fine, that's your opinion, I really didn't run into them very often until I started modding so I just don't agree and never will as is my right. Like I said, if you want to see buggy, go try Two Worlds, which is the competition I already named although there are others if you can figure out how to use a search engine. That one stands out to me only because I gave it a shot, both times, and that game has too many bugs for me. In pure numbers it has more than Skyrim, too, so it's obviously way too buggy for you. You can argue it's not moddable, but the lack of support for it was caused by lack of interest, Skyrim was already a huge hit at release before the CK and is a huge hit on the platforms that will never have access to the CK, so being moddable is a pretty moot point. History suggests if the tools aren't provided, modders will find a way for any game they actually want to work with. They were editing Skyrim before the CK. And you keep on pointing to there being nothing like it as if there's anything stopping someone from doing it. The fact that there isn't anything else quite like Skyrim is a testament to it's quality, nobody else has been able to do it right. You can pretend nobody has tried but we all know you're full of it. To WonsoMonk: "Brutal" and "obliterated" are less appropriate than "benighted" and "oblivious," but showing up on a Skyrim fan site to bash Skyrim and expect everyone to agree shows that better than any one post. I know before I said I wouldn't bother posting again, but you trolls have successfully drawn out a "fanboy" again. My final point is this: You are on a fan-made site for the most popular video game in recent years, a game you are still playing seventeen months after release, a game that despite the many attempts people have made has no equal by any other developer (this is what you say by telling me there's nothing like it, no sense in arguing there) and you're bashing the game we all obviously enjoy, yourself included. If you still don't get how pathetically wrong you are, no amount of reasoning can fix that, your continued argument proves only your own ignorance. Again, nobody is telling you to like the game, in fact I personally wish you didn't like it because you obviously wouldn't be here on this site if that were the case, we just want to be able to be fans on a fan site without being told the game we're obviously here to enjoy is bad.

Thanks for the mini-novel of drivel. I recommend you look up the definitions of fact and opinion. You really wanna argue over whether Bethesda's games are bug riddled? Okay, let's take a poll on it.

"we just want to be able to be fans on a fan site without being told the game we're obviously here to enjoy is bad."  - Oh, I'm so terribly sorry. I thought the purpose of a FORUM is to discuss and debate things. If you could take off the blinders and read my posts with an open-mind, you might get the sentiment that it's rational to like this type of game, but we shouldn't like the sloppy conditions and bugs. Just because I love Fallout- and TES- styled games doesn't mean I have to delude myself into believing that Bethesda can do no wrong.

So to appease your diminished comprehension skills I will summarize my points, just for you.

1. I have no interest in their "Legendary" edition unless they more extensively debug it. IMO, it's just an excuse to make more money.

2. I wish people would stop racing out to buy Beth's games, knowing there's gonna be tons of bugs. If most gamers had the guts to take a stand, Bethesda would protect their profit margin by doing a better job on their games.
