So, as I said, when I launch Oblivion, it is invisible! I simply see my desktop instead of the game's intro. However, I can still hear the intro's audio clearly. I have been playing Oblivion on my PC for a year or so, so I know I have no hardware incompatibilities.

 

I have done some quick researching, and the problem lies in my Oblivion.ini file. If I delete my current one, then launch Oblivion to create a new one, it works perfectly fine, but of course without my previous video settings. I would just change my video settings back, but having a heavily modded Oblivion while not knowing much about load order in the beginning, My game is infamous for crashing when I try to close, therefor not saving the settings in the ini. I would change the settings directly in the file, and while I understand some of the ini file, I don't recognize much of it v.v

 

ANYWAYS, would any of you happen to know a different solution, or exactly where the problem lies in the ini?

If this is necessary info, I run obse and gamecompanion's FF mode.

Oh also, I have a disk copy, not a downloaded Steam copy

YAAAAYY! I found the problem myself XD Should anyone stumble upon this topic in the same or similar situation I am in, Here is the solution.

 

Okay, so first you need to find your Oblivion.ini file which is probably located in "C:\My Documents\My Games\Oblivion" If it is not, you probably know where it is. If not, it's time for a scavenger hunt!

 

Once you have found your ini file, open it (what a surprise!). If you don't know this nifty shortcut, press F3, and a search dialogue should appear. in it, type "iLocation" which should bring you to iLocation X and iLocation Y. They probably say -32000 or something crazy like that. Well, change those numbers to 0!! Save the file, re-open Oblivion, and BAM, it should be back to normal. Now you don't need to create a new ini file and reset all your settings (especially if you're in my case where you can't simply reset your settings the usual way).

IMPORTANT PLEASE READ:

This solution worked for my case, I am not sure how many other causes there may be for this problem, or what risks this solution may hold for other people. Remember, when trying to fix problems, BE CAREFUL  and always create backup files wherever and whenever necessary!
