To be honest, I think it's horrible. The colors don't match the OS theme at all. Sure it looks OK with that wallpaper, but I keep a lighter look to my computer so it would look off on my setup. It really looks like some bubbly webapp instead of an actual program, and I hate the current trend of all this bubbly stuff that wastes space and uses non-native graphics unnecessarily. Speaking of, please for the love of whatever you find sacred keep OS standard minimize/close button location/style/size.
There's way too much wasted space between the options buttons for switching between plugins and mods and the actual list of items. Why so much space between the mod categories (granted there's not enough now, but this is the opposite extreme). I can only hope font size would be configurable, but I highly doubt it will be.
Personally I have no issue with check boxes on the plugin selection interface. Can we maybe get support for deleting plugins from the list like FOMM had before we move to an entire new look? The list of installed mods seems to have also ditched the extra info mod authors can add such as their name and the description they can give, which is sometimes used to provide useful information about what that plugin should and should not be used with. Probably shouldn't just ignore that info.
The list of available mods as I said previously suffers from the "bubbly" look. Too much space is being wasted with buttons for the same option for each mod. Can we at least still double click a mod to install it? Again, the loss of the immediately visible mod info is bad, as it is also used to provide critical information about mods (though NMMs ability to wiping mod author added info in favor of the sometimes much less useful page description is annoying in general).
So yeah, probably if this is the way NMM is going I'm going to find a way to de-convert all my mods back to FOMM, and use NMM as a highly burdensome and overweight file downloader just so I can get my threaded premium download speeds.

First, the game detection screen may get cumbersome as more games are supported, since you will need to scroll more to find what you want. Perhaps the games could be more compact.
Second, in the Plugin screen, is there a way to see the masters of a file? Its a little detail, but can be very useful to check if you have a problem in the load order.

- That "spacey" background behind NMM is the desktop background and not a part of NMM itself
- We will still be supporting "category view" and "all view", I just haven't had a mock-up done for the non-category view yet
- Search functionality is actually the next thing going in to NMM, and will be in way before this redesign is complete. Same with mod profiles.
- The ability to skin NMM to better suit your own personal favourite colour schemes has been requested a lot. I'll pass this on to the development team but I do think it's likely that we'll just have this one dark-colour theme to begin with and then look to provide more skins further on down the line (and hopefully open it up to you to make your own)
- We cannot and will not be providing an optional switch between the old and the new UI. It's just not feasibly possible for us to support both the old, defunct UI and the new UI. Upon moving to the new UI we'll jump the versioning up to 0.90.0 of NMM, go through a final round of BETA testing and then, fingers crossed, release 1.0 once we're confident the transition is bug free. Older versions of NMM should still work but will be no longer supported by us directly.
