Oblivion Mod errors

Hey guys, I have been reading some topics ( and trying some methods that other people were said to try) and they didnt work, I also know that I am pretty bad in what comes to mods and stuff so I probably have a very basic mistake somewhere in the organization of the mods ( I mean the order it beggins to launch the game).

 

I have a very weird bug, every time I start oblivion it says it couldnt find the masterfile francesco creatures and items even though I have went to the oblivion data folder and its there, I tried to disable/delete the mod via NMM and it still gives that same bug, hope to hear from anyone soon :).

If I recall correctly, the numbers are telling whether the plugin/masterfile is active/checked or not.

If that's right, then the "=0" up there behind the masterfile it's telling you is missing would explain the cause for your issue right there.

 

Though it's a little surprising. Normally masterfiles are activated right along by the first plugin parented to them, at least that's the case when loading plugins and their masters in the CS. I wonder why the game shouldn't do the same.

Then again, the "=0" could also mean something entirely different but related. Nevertheless, whatever it means, a "=0" for a masterfile can't mean anything good. Make sure the masterfile is actually 'active' in your load order and not just 'physically present' inside the folder.

Well the problem still persists I have reinstalled the mod and reactivated it (it actually is =1 now) and it still shows up as missing when I start up oblivion even though the file is there.
Any other option I can do?

Ok update on this , I reinstalled oblvion and now it doesnt even reach the menu, here is what I did :

and now when I open the game it instantly closes, any thoughs on this?

Have you run this load order through BOSS already? Did it throw any 'missing master' errors?

It's hard to spot something by the names only, but those many compatibility plugins from MMM at the end of your load order, making it compatible with a bunch of mods you simply don't even have (or I at least can't spot them), sure can cause such issue with ease. Where's Fran's? Where's FCOM? If any of those last "MMM for ..." plugins requires these to work, you will never get past the Bethesda logo screen without a CTD.

Weird it turned off Fran's its now active still with the bug though.

Whats Fcom, I dont understand much of this kind of programs xD.

FCOM's basically a combination of OOO, MMM, Fran's and... several others, all made compatible and working together.
The O is for OOO, the M for MMM, the F either for Fran's or Francesco's (if there's a difference that is), and the C... I don't know, the long version of the name changed some times in the past, it's mere guessing by me now.
At one point it was also abbreviated differently, according to the mods which were part of the package at this time.
 
So now all the previously missing files are back and active, but something (was it even the game to begin with?) tells you that one masterfile was missing again?
And did you run your load order through BOSS (Better Oblivion Sorting Software) now or not? It will literally 'yell' at you, if anything's out of order inside your load order.
 
Provided things are 'not' out of order, and all plugins have their masterfiles present quite fine, but whatever-it-is is still telling you the one file was missing, I'd suspect file access permission issues when on Vista/Win7/Win8 and having the game installed at the default location, inside program files, or even by using Steam Oblivion, also inside program files by default, next. In such cases the User Account Control (UAC) of Windows will mess with your files and put them into some compatibility folders instead of into program files, while the Explorer will tell you they were exactly where you put them. However, the game can't be tricked that way like the user, and simply will not find them.

edit: One more thing, coming to think of it, 'Oblivion' never complained about any missing masterfile for as long as I visit these forums, it only crashes during the Bethesda logo sequence. So what exactly is it that's telling you which masterfile is missing, anyways?

Hey again ^^, I ran BOSS and it didn't show any error, the error itself is weird, I basically start up the game and the screen goes black and into fullscreen like it should but closes right after which means I cant even reach the menu and it doesn't give any error warning.

Now that sounds more like the behavior I'm used of the game when missing a masterfile somewhere.

 

Could you perhaps show me the BOSS log you got? Maybe this will give away some more valid information to the matter.

BOSS pops up the log once it's done ordering your mods, but it does also store the file before showing it. I think the window that's showing it even states where it's stored somewhere in the title or something.
