  1. Dammit your avatar and this statement made me remember what happened to Dawn of War again. The complaints I had with Dark Crusade and Soulstorm seem so petty now. Why does getting older have to be so damned depressing? Our minds focus on the bad things from our past and as we get older we have more of those bad experiences to dwell on. In a way that's the same reason so many people are worried about CC. Our minds are programmed to focus on the bad things that could happen to keep us prepared. It's just human nature to expect the worst. Its a mixture of both, Our minds and what we have been seeing for the past 10 or so years. Apart from exceptions, Very few gaming companies are 'consumer friendly'. Look at CoD's multiplayer evolution, Look at GTA, they forgot alll about offline experience because of the GTA online cash machine, It would be good if they used that cash and actually did something , Some expansion, dlc? But they are just sitting on it. Dammit your avatar and this statement made me remember what happened to Dawn of War again. The complaints I had with Dark Crusade and Soulstorm seem so petty now. It's just human nature to expect the worst. not just that, we've seen games go from being complete and bug free to being incomplete beta versions that require extra purchases to unlock the complete experience. we've seen developers go from giving away free extra content to selling expansion packs. we've seen expansion packs become ingame micro transactions and even, on thankfully rare occasions, the expansion pack/DLC contains the END OF THE GAME'S STORY ARC. Exactly. Dead rising 4? DE:MD? There's no such thing as bug-free game. You're painting memories of your youth and childhood in better colours than they ever were. Plenty of games Ran from start to finish without major bugs and performance issues, Now instead of Testing/QA getting easier because of technology advancement, Entire small companies made for this specific section entirely. They put the bare minimum needed, if it works then GREAT, if not then its put off till after launch. There's no such thing as bug-free game. many people chose to forget the reason the entire line of "unofficial patch" mods exist in the first place (BTW this is in support of your post) I dont think he means bug free Beth games, But any game. Not a lot of other games have unofficial patches to fix stuff. Hell Beth cant even QA/Test their own AAA games, And We are expecting them to do QA/Testing for CC paid mods?? Really?
  2. this is my fear. don't forget that Topware have locked the developers console so that console commands can no longer be used but you can purchase cheats through microtransaction. Couple problems with that. First, beth is expecting the 'amateur' mod authors to apply to become members of CC. If there are no amateur modders, their labor pool just dried up. Second, beths' whole premise for releasing the CK is so that PLAYERS can have the experience THEY want. Beth's vision doesn't come into it at all. Third, beth doesn't care about 'equal access'. Sure, they would like to see that happen, but, that's between Sony, and Beth. Consider that for the last decade and change, consoles haven't had mods. This is a new experience for console players. The playing field has never really been level. And the consoles are still restricted more so than PC. Beth isn't going to restrict PC's to X number of mods...... At this point, they can't. Will they for the next game? Doubtful. There is no advantage to beth in it. It is most certainly to beths advantage to have a healthy free-modding community. That is where they expect most of their CC members to come from. Why on earth would they cut their own throats by gutting it? True, But i dont mean that this will happen in 1-2 years. No, This will happen when the Creation club has a solid base, alot of people using it on consoles n on PC. Sort of when it becomes the 'Norm', Its like how older gamers have experience true expansion packs, we valued those. But the next expending new gens only know of smaller dlc's , even smaller packs and microtransactions. For them thats normal, thats what they grew up with, they dont know or havnt experienced what it was before. The creation club could be that for them as well, instead of coming to Nexus, Getting into the 'hurdle' of downloading ,configuring, fearing if it breaks the game or break compatibility with other big mods? They would rather pay to CC and not be bothered by it. You know its true, How many people dont even read the "Readme" of a mod. This plan isnt for now, its aimed 5 yr down the line. 2)Beths premise for releasing CK for now is experience Players want, But they could easily decide that they have enough base to give them the additional experience THEY WANT for us, on all consoles. Where do you think the next younger upcoming batch of modders will go? 3) I think Beth and in particular, Console owners care about not giving the pc too much of an edge. Beth would rather get a console safe then a PC sale, Many console gamers made a huge fuss about mods, then about mods they couldnt get, its an unequal experience in Zenimax's eyes. 4) Sure it is certainly in beths advantage to have healthy free community, But i would say the same point that PCgamer author did. Bethesda has been indirectly profiting from the modding community for years, 5-6 yr old Skyrim still sells , still has considerable number of people playing. If they cared so much about it, Then they should have made CC mods free, Pay themselves to modders and release for free. They already get indirect sales benefits of the base game+DLC's
  3. And you've seen that in your magic bowl, your tarot cards or your pigeon's poo? Ahh How mature, Its derived from other services/games over the years that try to ensure "experience is how they want it" , Ofcourse i dont want this to happen, but as its happening in many services/games online n offline. Its an inevitable path. A walled garden benefits companies greatly. So basically all you got are your assumptions you dreamed last night. You really dont have much to say do you? Why dont you resist the urge for a comeback , Or actually have discussion/argument. Have you never seen similar statements ? Never seen many sequence of events? Ahh no matter. By the time it will happen, i would be over this.

  5. I can already see the blog post they will release in the future. "To ensure maximum quality and experience that we want for ALL PLATFORMS , we have decided not to release the creation kitt to public. Only our registered/recognized creation club members will be able to use the 'Online only creation kitt' and upload mods for review before finally being released into the common bethNet store. This will ensure all platforms have the same mods, experience. Further promoting high end mods that help raise the experience the way we imagine." And boom, Just like Take-Two took out gta community, And since they make most sales on consoles, they will lock the system too. It will stop from console users wanting thousands of pc only mods, which they cant get due to platforms restrictions.
  6. In response to post #24731234. #24739424 is also a reply to the same post. Actually they have already said something along the lines. Skyrim modding is old community set in ways we shouldnt have shaken their system, Perhaps we can try it again on a newer platform.
  7. Ughh I feel my blood pressure rising... I shouldnt have gone down to read the comments, Mod Authors/future authors: Sorry you all put up hopes for this system, and it went down very fast. Just its coming and going has done much damage and ignited many different topics. Having 200+ mods for Skyrim , making the game beautiful and adding countless things, i shudder to think if half of them went behind any paywall what it would do? I certainly wont use much mods , except Kudos to those Authors who will/may keep a same free version for us lowlives. The haters, and trolls, those requesting features mindlessly aside, <--- not worth it, please ignore them, dont let those fish ruin the entire pond. Being on the internet for as long as we have, i have a mental filter for these types now. Use filter more. Modding was a week ago free, making money of it was illegal, So by that logic all current Authors went in knowing no money? Just some appreciation, some recognition, some positive feedback. that was it all. But now there was a slight chance of making money of something you have done, of which you had no intention of making money in the first place. Dont be that angry just coz the chance went away for now. Why not think of it this "getting something in return" chance never even happened? We All know they stopped this for skyrim but they will iron out and deploy for Fallout 4 Whatever. To Mod-USERS: We dont really value our authors , coz all their work was for free, in return they got some happiness from a small percentage of users, so please be more appreciative of their work. Takes 30 seconds to click leave a nice comment or vote. argh i dont know if i got what i was saying across.
