  1. Explain what exactly what you find 'nonsense' about my post. It seems that you are completely obsessed with jumping into anything that anyone posts that is slightly bad about this abomination called Vortex and 'defending' it. Personally, the part I find conflicting is where Vortex is straight trash but NMM isn't, yet you say you have modded for several years, which would make me think you understand how bad NMM was and how superior a hardlink deployment/virtualization install is. And I say this as someone who used NMM for several years. Vortex was pretty easy to learn for me, as well as easier to troubleshoot mod conflicts. NMM doesn't even know how to properly uninstall mods because it's logs are broken, causing it to leave remnants of mods in the data folder.
  2. Loot directly before and directly after in itself is a bad idea. Sometimes modders may create things that need to go between a main file and a patch file. For example you MOD.esp is a new weapon, and MOD-OptionalThing.esp is a texture file. But I don't like the shape of the weapon, so I make a new mesh for it. But I also want the optional texture. So the MODMESH.esp should go between MOD.esp and MOD-OptionalThing.esp, but it because you made a load directly after rule, you have to manually alter this again just for aesthetic purposes.
  3. 1. Really? A Logo is an issue? I personally like it better. Cleaner. 2. Because it's deploying. I actually find it faster. If you don't want it to deploy after every single install, you can set it to do that you know, so it only deploys after you finish installing. 3. This "may" be an issue, but not really a big one. So make a new folder and drag the contents onto Vortex. 4. THIS IS IMPORTANT THAT THE ARCHIVES BE STORED. This single comment makes me think you have no idea what you are talking about. How long have you been modding that you think the archives should be deleted is a good idea after installing? Installing the mod does not unpack everything. An example would be if I install AOS, and then later on decided I wanted Traps are Dangerous, are you telling me that I have to redownload AOS, because the archive that contained the AOS patch for Traps are Dangerous was deleted because I already installed it? When you go through a FOMOD installer, some patches are left inside and not unpacked because you didn't choose them, to save space. Are you saying that a Mod Manager should unpack and insert files not related to your installation just so you can delete the archive? That would cause problems. 5. There is a compact view in the settings so you cans see more than 11 at a time. -_-
  4. Make sure you purge all mods via Vortex before trying to mod with NMM.
  5. On some rigs, the 16.10 version isn't working. Just use the 16.08 version. It's on the download page.
  6. NMM doesn't log things properly and often has errors on the log. Since Vortex just reads the log, it probably detects some mods but aren't logged properly. Just manually transfer the mods via drag and drop onto Vortex.
  7. LOL. This is one of the little things that's staring you at the face that sometimes you need someone who thinks a bit out of the box to tell you it can be done and you'll go, "Well I'll be damned."
  8. Let's put it this way. In NMM if there are conflicts, it asks you to overwrite. In Vortex, installations do not overwrite because they unpack separately from each other. They only overwrite on deployment. These "conflicts" are the stuff that are should be overwriting each other. If you don't tell Vortex how to solve these conflicts, then it won't know what overwrites what in your deployment. It's pretty simple.
  9. Basically the NMM log is broken, and it's giving Vortex false instructions. It's like what happens if you get instructions from IKEA that has an extra screw and you find you're missing it. You can't finish your chair. Just manually transfer. Go to where NMM dumped the mod archives it downloaded, and drag and drop them over to Vortex's drag box. Also this means reinstalling all your mods, and you should uninstall all your mods before starting to use Vortex.
  10. My new mechanic is stupid. My axle is broken, but my car is clearly still able to be driven on the road. How do you think I brought it to him in the first place? I drove it of course! So what if my axle is broken? So what if it could suddenly break on me while driving and get me involved in a possibly fatal road accident? My car runs! So the mechanic shouldn't care about it and let me drive it! ^Same argument as the OP, applied to a different situation.
  11. I think you did not understand the problem : in the Nexus Mod Manager, all my mods are set as "activated". With the little green check on the left. But in the game they're not. In other words, you do not know how to use NMM either. On the upper part of NMM, there are two tabs. One says plugins, open that. and put a check mark on your mods. The green check does not mean your mod in NMM is activated. It means it's installed. It can be installed and have the plugin in game unticked for a variety of modding reasons, like needing the mod resources active but the plugin disabled.
  12. First thing you should do is Google "How to use Vortex" and actually read/watch instead of just doing whatever.
  13. Because it doesn't know what to overwrite. On NMM if there are conflicts, it asks you whether to overwrite something or not. Conflicts is basically just telling the mod manager what to overwrite what. And this is a massive improvement. Unless you want a ton of game breaking bugs to pile up on your game.
  14. Use the older version, not the 16.10. It's not working for some people.
  15. Yeah that's what I use. LOL. I did previously use CCleaner though because the cleaning tool in Windows was so far down inside the settings that I was too lazy and CCleaner was on the desktop. LOL.
