  1. It all depends on how/why you mod your game. I really enjoy setting Skyrim/Fallout up with a balance of exceptional graphic quality and game playability at 60 fps. I want to be able to take a screenshot in the middle of a playthrough without having to change a bunch of textures/settings. I've spent the weekend making my first attempt at modding SE. Most of the mods I find necessary been ported. Yes, the game (with several 2k/4k retextures) seems to run a bit smoother, however, I am struggling with the way the game looks. Skyrim SE looks blurry and cartoony to me. SE has quite a ways to go before it can compete graphically with a heavily modded LE setup. In my defense, I have the latest Nvidia drivers, several HD texture packs, tree/landscape overhauls, correct ini settings, Obsidian weather, etc installed. I have also tried a few ENB presets (Intrigued and Organic for Obsidian Weathers) but cannot get the same visual quality that I have achieved with my LE setup.
  2. I, too, would love to see a version of Jaxonz positioner for SE - it was a must-have for me in Skyrim classic. I know it required SKSE and so we will have to wait and see if those functions will be available in the SKSE64 version. Jaxonz is female . . .
  3. Thanks for letting us know! Wizardmirth, you can buy Morrowind from GOG.com (which is DRM free). If you use Steam, try to have everything installed outside of your Program Files folder (for example - C:/Games/Steam).
  4. I actually went out of my way to have hard disc copies of Oblivion and Fallout 3. I think that some of these older games are more stable without Steam running in the background - when you heavily mod these 32bit games you need to dedicate as much of the 3.2 gb ram as you can to the game and not other useless processes like Steam. I would happily buy all of my games on disc to avoid having to use Steam and have been trying to buy more of my games through GOG.com (no third party DRM client). You will not find any of the more modern Bethesda games on GOG.com, though. I did not buy the GOTY Edition of Oblivion because I, too, could not determine whether or not all of the various smaller DLCs were included on the discs (and they require you to use Steam). I purchased Oblivion and all of it's DLC in three separate disc packages: Fallout 3 & Oblivion Double Pack - PC The Elder Scrolls IV: Knights of the Nine - PC (this disc also contains: Horse Armor, The Orrery, Wizard's Tower, Vile Lair, Thieve's Den, Mehrune's Razor, and Spell Tomes. NOTE: for some reason you cannot purchase Fighter's Stronghold anywhere that I've seen including Steam.) The Elder Scrolls IV: Shivering Isles - PC I think I paid around $20 total for the discs above - the prices fluctuate quite a bit, so you may get lucky and find them cheaper. I hope this helps.
  5. Back to the original topic, thanks xecco77 for sharing this information with us. I'm looking forward to trying this out soon. I know that Nvidia released updated drivers on 10/28 that were supposedly for Skyrim SE - maybe there will be some updated SLI compatibility bits included in this update. Here's the link to the article where this was announced: http://www.pcgamer.com/nvidia-releases-game-ready-37570-drivers-for-titanfall-2-skyrim-special-edition/
  6. The only problem I have is taking screenshots with ENB - the effects don't show properly. I have to use FRAPS to take screenshots with certain ENBs (otherwise they look terrible). This even applies to Fallout 4. Unfortunately FRAPS seems to be incompatible with F4Se and I have to deactivate it in order to run FRAPS/take screenshots. My flickr page with Skyrim Classic images: https://www.flickr.com/photos/68335715@N03/
  7. I use SLI for the original Skyrim and for Fallout 4 (and will try in Skyrim SE). In my original Skyrim I am able to keep a pretty constant 60 fps (with occasional drops into the high 40s) with Immersive Patrols, OBIS, RND, Wet and Cold, AFT, SFO, Enhanced Landscapes (with grass at max), Expanded Towns and Cities, Skyrim Immersive Creatures, Deadly Dragons, SMIM, several high resolution texture mods, several new locations/homes, and high end ENBs (K ENB, Grim and Somber series, etc) all at 1440p. If I turn SLI off, I lose 20 - 30 fps and have horrible stuttering. So yeah, SLI does matter and does make a huge difference depending on the game!
  8. I use CPUID Hardware Monitor when I want to see everything (temps, fan speeds, voltages, speeds, utilizations, etc) in one location. Hardware Monitor helped me verify that I had installed all of my AIO liquid cooling devices properly and that my over-clock settings were actually being applied. I also use TechPowerUp GPU-Z to monitor my graphics cards (displays for gpu load, memory used, temps, clocks, etc). These monitoring programs do use system resources and can impact your game performance. I wouldn't recommend running them full time.
  9. "Timing is Everything" by kryptopyr was a fantastic mod (Skyrim LE) that allowed you to customize when certain quests trigger in your game. Unfortunately it requires Sky UI so it will be a while before kryptopyr can update it for Skyrim SE. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/38151/?
  10. Adding new mods to a play-through (unless explicitly stated by the mod author that the mod requires a new/fresh game) should work without problems. I've added several mods mid play-through throughout my several years of modding without any problems (to include User Interface, MCM, and heavily scripted SKSE, OBSE, FOSE, NVSE mods). You should also be careful when a mod gets updated by the author - sometimes even these require a new game or a "clean" save. ALWAYS read the mod authors instructions and stickies.
  11. Make sure you're editing the correct weapon - sometimes there are different variations of the same gun. You need to edit the "capacity" number located within the "DNAM - Data" category for the weapon. This will change the base weapon magazine capacity.
  12. You should try updating Scrap Everything to the 2.2 version. From the Scrap Everything v2.2 changelog: "Redid the Precombined/Previsibility in the Mechanist's Lair and Vault 88 - no more FPS drops/texture issues/world randomly disappearing bugs"
  13. Have you checked out Weaponsmith Extended? Link here: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/10737/? It's the largest weapon collection available for Fallout 4. It includes several of the most popular/best quality weapon mods all integrated into the Leveled lists (with crafting recipes, etc). Most of the weapon mods listed in onelinglee's post above are included. It's a bit of a slog to install, but totally worth it!
  14. This is just a hunch, but do you know how to use FO4Edit? If so, run your load order and then search "60002147" in the FormID box located in the upper left hand corner. You might get lucky and find the mod causing the error. The eight digit number most likely references a specific FormID entry to one of your mods - whichever one that is located in the number "60" slot in your load order (the first two digits correspond with the mod's location in your load order). The number "60" isn't actually the 60th mod in your load order. You will need FO4Edit to display what each of your mods' actually number assignment is. The error appears to have something to do with a Legendary Leveled List - maybe one of your mods is having scripting problems while trying to inject an item into the game's leveled items list?
  15. I'm pretty sure that the official number is 255 plugins - .esms and .esps to include the Fallout4.esm and all dlcs. You can have as many texture/mesh mods as your computer can handle. I've read (in Skyrim) that some people were experiencing instability the closer they got to having 255 plug-ins. My rule of thumb is to keep my plug-in list under 225. I usually try to combine some of the smaller mods/patches into a single plug-in to reduce my load order.
