This tutorial creates an UNP to SevenBase conversion to demonstrate the process. But it also works for conversions like UNP -> CBBE, Vanilla -> UNPB, UNPB -> DreamGirl, SevenBase -> DreamGirl and so on. To do that, select conversion references for these in the process instead.
For CBBE you will not need a few of the steps, since you can use BodySlide to create the low weight variant and don't have to morph the shape twice in the actual conversion process.
1.) Start a new project in Outfit Studio.
2.) Select the "Convert: UNP to CBBE" template and click next.
Note: CBBE is used as a "bridge" here.
3.) Load the high weight variant of an UNP outfit and click next (e.g. outfit_1.nif).
Note: High weight variants have the "_1" suffix attached to the file name.
4.) Delete the body shape that was imported together with the outfit (not the reference shape)!
Note: Right-click the body shape (the one lower in the list) and delete it. If you don't do this, you might have two exported body shapes later.
5.) Conform the outfit shapes to the "UNPToCBBE" slider. To do that, use the "Slider -> Conform All" menu item.
Note: The hotkey is CTRL+Shift+C. It doesn't matter what you have selected in the list here.
6.) Put the "UNPToCBBE" to 100% and use the "Slider -> Set Base Shape" feature.
Note: This will make the 100% value of the slider the default value. Clipping and shapes not matching is normal here!
7.) Use "File -> Load Reference" and load the "Convert: CBBE to SevenBase" template or manually select your conversion reference XML file.
8.) Repeat step 5 and 6 but with the "CBBETo7B" slider.
Note: Now you have a 7B shaped body that uses the CBBE texture alignment.
9.) Use "Load Reference" again and manually select the "BodySlide/ConversionSets/7BConvert.xml" file or the conversion reference you need. Then, select the "7B High->Low" slider set in the list below.
Note: This is the official 7B_1.nif body shape including correct texture alignment.
10.) Now you might have to fix a bit of clipping here and there using the brush tools that Outfit Studio provides. Select the shapes of the outfit you want to adjust and fix them. Once you're done, continue with the next step.
11.) Next, duplicate the reference body shape by right-clicking and duplicating the shape. Give it a simple name like "body".
12.) The last step for the high weight variant of the conversion is to "Copy Bone Weights" for all of the outfit shapes by right-clicking them.
13.) Export the finished conversion using "File -> Export .Nif"! Replace the high weight variant of the outfit you converted with this file (_1.nif).
14.) To create the low weight variant of the outfit, delete the duplicated body shape again. Use "Slider -> Conform All", set the slider to 100% and use "Slider -> Set Base Shape".
15.) Repeat step 9 but select the "7B Low->High" reference instead. Fix up the shapes using the brushes.
16.) To finish up the conversion, duplicate the reference body again and "Copy Bone Weights" for all of the outfit shapes again.
17.) Use "File -> Export .Nif" to replace the low weight _0.nif of the outfit you converted, and you should have both the finished low weight NIF (_0.nif) and high weight NIF (_1.nif)! ![]()
