The site was down today for a couple of hours while I tried to sort out an issue with the forum database. The problem escalated due to a variety of problems and a forum backup had to be restored from yesterday for the forum posts table. No other data (member info, for example) should have been lost, but quite a few posts will have been lost from the past 24 hours.
Apologies for the inconvenience.

That should be a pretty minor setback, glad the site and the forum are accessible again though. Thanks!

I lost 10 - 20 posts I believe but no worries...back up and running is what counts.
It's been a rough July/August so I appreciate all the effort you put into this...will apply for my premium membership too once all is settled down.
Thanks! Keep up the good work.

Just wanted to say a big 'THANK YOU' Dark0ne for all the hard work you've put in over the last few days, especially as I was one of those having problems connecting.
Thanks also to Buddah for the assist both here and on the Beth forums.
Kudos to you both.
Cheers Kyle (aka Evard)

Ah, that would explain why my post had disappeared. I thought I'd done something wrong and it had been deleted. *phew*

It is good too see that those of you working on the problem were able to make such a quick recovery. I hope everyone who pounded the keyboards, plugging and unplugged computer wires, and stuff, to restore everything gets some well deserved rest.
So it seems it might be advisable for those of us who treasure our new and frequent visitors, and their posts, we should collect and archive them ourselves to avoid the loss from the occasional computer hazard.
Thanks to all of you who found the problem and got it repaired.

Is there a way to restore this ????
No matter, isn't really needed. (better if it does, worse if you have to shut down the site for hours to restore it.)
