  1. So i have resolved this problem, it turns out this was caused by an erroneous Windows installation after my version of Windows 10 (1909) was about to reach it's EOL and forced me to update to a newer version. This performed something similar to a reinstallation of Windows 10 (only difference i can tell is it kept all of my files) but somehow managed to make all program installers stop working despite the Windows Installer service itself running with no issue. i figured it out when i tried to install two other applications and they both got stuck not responding. Because the Vortex installation visually looked like it had completed i didn't initially link it to a windows issue, it was only when i saw other installers hang that i figured there was a correlation. For posterity as other users on the 1909 build of Windows 10 may experience this in the coming days: The symptoms: Program installers will consistently hang. Vortex doesn't make it obvious so try something else to test. The cause: Faulty Windows 10 installation after an EOL update from version 1909 which reaches EOL on May 11, 2021. (the new version will be either 2004 or 20H2, mine went to 20H2) The solution as far as i can tell: using the Windows System File Checker as per this link https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/using-system-file-checker-in-windows-10-365e0031-36b1-6031-f804-8fd86e0ef4ca with a PC restart afterwards just to be sure.
  2. Vortex version: 1-1-4-12-1620217636 Edit: i posted an incorrect log after trying an older version to see if that would fix my problem, it didn't, i have reinstalled the latest version as above and pasted the new log over the old one. What game: Not relevant at this point i would think, Vortex isn't even loading. How many mods: 0 What environment: Windows 10 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 19042), 32GB RAM When i run Vortex, i get the Vortex splash screen and then the application window loads and gets stuck on "Loading Extensions". I am not running the program as an administrator. There is no crash or error message. I can only close it using task manager or by doing right-click then 'Close window' on the task bar. Tonight i am having a chicken madras ready meal for dinner. A fresh reinstall did not change anything. I have fully uninstalled the application and manually purged any and all leftover files i could find on all of my drives beforehand. It didn't help unfortunately. I also tried running an older version which worked in the past. I can't attach the latest log because it says i'm "not permitted to upload this kind of file". As a workaround i've pasted it into this spoiler box instead: I have attached a screenshot for what little it's worth. P.S. your logger's timestamps aren't adjusted for BST and i don't feel any kind of way about it either way but it's just something i noticed and thought it was weird that it wasn't running on system time so whatever bye.
  3. Well i just remade the mod from scratch (with some improvements because i knew what i was doing this time) and everything works fine. I guess it must have been that single base edit even though i set it back to its original state, the game just really didnt like that i guess. Note to anyone that reads this topic: NEVER TOUCH THE CRAFTING TABLE BASE FORMS.
  4. I did at one point accidentally edit the workbench base, but i only changed one thing that i set back to what it was by default before i clicked OK, and it was only the workbench base so i cant see that affecting everything in the game as they all have their own bases. Other than that, apart from making a new cell, building a basement and messing with a mannequin in hjerim, i haven't touched anything.
  5. I am creating a breezehome basement armory (yeah another one of those) and i have come across a reeeeally weird issue that only occurs when my .esp is active. I repeat ONLY when my .esp is active. It is not save or install related. I cannot interact with workbenches, alchemy tables, enchantment tables, forges, sharpening wheels, anvils, chairs and benches. NPC's also cannot interact with any of these objects at all. I also do not seem to be able to get a bounty but that could just be me being a pansy and my punches arent strong enough to make a guard arrest me :) Does anyone know of something i might have changed by accident that could have caused this?
