  1. So, I'm using a hair mod that's not on the Nexus for one of my characters. I want to turn this character into a stand alone follower. I've gotten permission to use the hair from the author of the hair pack, however, they do not have explicit permission themselves to use the actual hair mesh(which was created for another game several years ago) from the original author of said mesh. I really like this hair, but approaching the original author for permission may expose certain parties to... unwanted recourse as the original author has been known to be tough about giving permission/exploring legal options (and may even charge money for the original hair mesh on their website which adds to the possible fallout). This is the kind of thing where I don't want to rock the boat but I also don't want to flagrantly disregard the user rules of the Nexus by not getting permission. My main question is: Since I have permission to use part of a mod in my mod from the person who assembled the mod, added new textures and implemented the execution of the pack, would I be able to get away with just crediting the original author of the asset without obtaining expressed permission? Or would that be inviting a firstorm down upon the house of Dirk45? Some guidance(preferably from a moderator or seasoned modder that has dealt with this kind of thing before) would be much appreciated. Ideally, I would prefer to stay in good standing with the Nexus sites AND not bring about some sort of legal witch-hunt on users here and on other sites. Thanks in advance for your wisdom. P.S. Obviously I know I could just take my mod to one of those other sites but I would much rather release it here. In fact, if I can't bring it here, well, then I just won't release it... I guess. P.P.S. I never seem to have problems that fall easily into categories here on the forums. If this is in the wrong place I'm terribly sorry.
  2. I don't know where to put this so I'll put it here: I'm looking for a Nexus user who was at one time active under the name missjennabee, or something like that. They had a file called Improved Freckles, I downloaded it quite awhile ago and I've since learned that the file has been removed from Skyrim Nexus(allegedly by the author). I was just wondering what happened to it and if I may seek permission to use some of the freckles in a follower mod I'm making from the user once known as missjennabee or whosoever actually created Improved Freckles.(yes, I've thought of just using some other freckles or making my own but they just don't look right to me, I'm a freckle snob) If anyone knows anything like what happened with that file or how to contact the original author, that information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance:)
  3. In response to post #8293873. #8294090 is also a reply to the same post. Yeah... I guess I was just thinking for those of us that use "adult" content and therefore would be more than ok with it in Hot Files, but we also share space with parents/grandparents/tweenagers and don't want to have to do the whole "it's not wat it looks like!" dance when we go to the site because the Hot Files on the main page are out of my control. I don't know, I'm crazy. But I had to explain why bewbies were on my screen to my mother when she was visiting and Sevenbase was up.(I'm not knocking it as a mod- it's just how the cover image came up that caused me grief.)
  4. While I'm not for increasing censorship in any way, I think having the Hot Files section require the "hot file" to have a sfw cover image would be a good way to add some security to the family oriented folks, while allowing us scum to see what new dingaling and hoo-hoo mods we can get our mits on. For instance, Penises of Skyim(or whatever it was called), while obviously an adult oriented mod did not have a human/kajiit/argonian/mer wang as it's cover image - it had a stylized, turgid standing stone in the shape of a wiener. The Sevenbase body on the other hand just had a naked woman, nipples and all. The former is classy, the latter is not so subtle. I guess it is harder to find a balance without going either full Disney or all the way to the dark side. Just glad it's not my job. :)

  6. I was going to say a thing, but iTired. ......... All I can muster is: If your only goal is reproduction and keeping humanity alive, then being attracted to the same sex is a bad thing. If your goal doesn't involve polluting earth with more meatbags, well then, to quote Martha Stewart, "It's a good thing." Now back to sleep/lying awake for six hours with my thoughts....
