  1. Welcome, Paul! I'm pleased to hear that you'll be exploring options to improve the site's functionality. I completed the survey you set up. I've also sent you a private message with some notes that are too extensive for a comment here. Please let me know if you'd like more info. Thanks! chevenga
  2. Hi, Axel. My Skyrim download history is empty. Could you please take a look and see if this problem is affecting my account too? Thanks very much!
  3. I am also having problems when manually downloading files since 25 October -- after I click the download link, the site says they're downloading, but the downloaded files are 0 KB and give me an "unknown format or damaged" error when I try to open them. This happens in Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Chrome with all of the following files I've tried to download since 25 October: SKYRIM PERFORMANCE BOOSTER Morskom Estate BadGremlins Spooky Tower Ruins Sky Ball Tournament Widget Mod Relevant Scrolls and Potions (an Oblivion mod I just tried while trying to troubleshoot my missing download history, as requested here) The site seems to register the files as having been successfully downloaded, because I can endorse the files. The downloads succeed if I log out before downloading. But because that only works for files smaller than 2 MB, it's not a viable workaround. Thanks for this suggestion! The downloads are successful if I click one of the links (for CDN or any premium server) in the download pop-up. Nexus staff, please let me know if you need more info to help troubleshoot this problem. Edited to add Oblivion file to list of download attempts.
  4. @Duckie1986: You should probably post this in the Skyrim Technical Support forum at http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/forum/414-skyrim-technical-support. I recommend something like this for the topic title: What mod causes "OnUpdate latency" message? The message you mention reminds me of the script-latency test feature included with Convenient Horses (http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/14950). But I can't remember if that latency test gives feedback in the format you described. So maybe you have enabled a latency test in CH or another mod. Please give the Skyrim-specific forum a try. Maybe someone there will have more info. Good luck! @Oubliette: In this case, I'm pretty sure that "Avg" stands for "average", rather than the AVG antivirus program. The message seems to indicate latency/response speed for OnUpdate as an average speed, a minimum speed, and a maximum speed.
  5. @Lucevar: I'm assuming that when you say "track", you mean "notifications" rather than "feeds". To change the notifications you receive: Go to your user area. Click Change your site preferences. On the Edit your site preferences page, go to the Your notification preferences section. Select the No option for Receive notifications for new comments on files you're tracking. If you mean "feeds", change the options in the Your feeds preferences section instead of the Your notification preferences section. You said that you'd like to get notified about comments for files you're helping with. I don't think the options are granular enough that you can get notified about comments for other people's uploads, even if you're working on them. You can only choose whether to receive notifications for your own uploads or for all of your tracked mods. Hope this helps!
  6. Erm... I'm not sure I follow. Do you mean that it's different if the topic is manually locked? To check this, I went to the Skyrim Technical Support forum and searched for "banned", because that's the quickest way I can think of to find topics that have been locked by a moderator. I selected "Trouble editing the "Data File"" in the search results. It was locked by bben46. Then I went to the topic author's profile and clicked the "Posts" link in the left pane. That topic doesn't appear red. I get the same results if I use the "Find content" link on the profile page and then click "Posts only" in the left pane: the topics aren't red. I also get the same results if I use the same procedure on other locked topics. This makes me think that a topic being locked isn't the only criterion for a topic to appear red. Other ideas? ------------------ Edit: I just came across a red topic we can use for reference: http://i986.photobucket.com/albums/ae349/chevenga/Nexus/RedTopic1.png If I click on the "response to post" link, it dead-ends back at the first post in the topic. For my user-level permissions, post 16454013 does not exist. Maybe this post is part of a thread that was deleted or hidden, or whose original post was deleted or hidden. This post itself wasn't deleted or hidden, but the post it's attached to isn't available anymore, and the red indicates that it's some kind of orphan.
  7. I'm not sure this is correct. If it's locked topics, then wouldn't all locked topics be that way? For example, the locked ban topics in your content are not red. And I have not been a participant in most (or maybe even any) of the posts/topics that I've seen in red. So that criterion wouldn't apply in my case. Maybe there's another condition or two that causes the red?
  8. So what does it mean when the topic is red? I've seen a few topics like that, and I've always wondered about the signficance. Does it mean that the topic or post has been marked to be deleted, but the change has not yet propagated everywhere?
  9. If I'd known this was coming, I wouldn't have fretted about the Required Files pop-up adding additional clicks to the manual download process. Thanks very much for adding this very handy feature!
  10. I don't think there's a way to do it right now. I'd love to have an e-mail notification feature, though, especially if I could get it in a daily, weekly, or monthly digest.
  11. I too get the "You do not have permission" error if I try to go to http://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?showtopic=1247570.
  12. As someone who has downloaded and tracks lots of mods, I'm dismayed at the possibility of yet another click requirement added to my download process -- it adds up fast, particularly for manual downloaders like me. For manual downloading, the process is click to go to a mod page, click the Files tab, click to choose a file, click to choose a server, click to confirm the notification, and click to close the download box. So it's going from 5 clicks to 6, around 15% more. Here's an example that sprung to mind after I looked at my current number of tracked-file notifications (545): For 5 notifications, it's not such a big deal, just 5 more clicks. For 50 notifications, though, it's 50 more clicks. And for my current notifications, it's potentially over 500 more clicks. The number of clicks required increases further for mods with multiple files and for download failures. It's a bit daunting to face another click every. single. mod. and every. single. download. for those mods that have requirements added. Please allow users to opt out of this new feature. Thank you.
  13. Is it Add Items by GrimyBunyip? It's available at https://sites.google.com/site/grimyskyrim/my-mods/miscellaneous. I don't remember it having an option to add 10 of an item, but I haven't played in a few months now. Please let me know if that's the one. Thanks!
  14. The problem croc123 describes happens for me too, in Firefox and Chrome. I usually resort to opening files from the second and later pages into new tabs to avoid having to reclick the Next Page button again and again.
  15. My current older computer is nearing its 5th anniversary. It's held up admirably through thousands of hours of Elder Scrolls gaming, but it's time for the dear old thing to head into retirement. It will be fondly remembered. :salutes: The components for a sprightly newer machine are in the mail! Woohoo! I did most of my research on http://www.tomshardware.com/ and http://www.logicalincrements.com. I wanted the AMD FX-9370 Vishera 4.4GHz Socket AM3+ 220W Eight-Core Desktop Processor - Black Edition, but with its higher cost and the limited motherboards to choose from, I decided to start smaller. Then I hope to upgrade the CPU and motherboard in a couple of years to something closer to 5 GHz. It's not nearly as stylish as I would prefer, but with both a limited budget and limited physical options, I settled for a glowy case. Yay for... um, practicality? Thanks for the inspiration to compile a single list and share it, Vagrant0! I'm looking forward to seeing what others have managed with their holiday money.
