  1. Been wanting to give back to the community somehow and thought I might be able to contribute my voices. Name on the Nexus: RangerDelk About Me: Real name is Joshua and I live in the USA. American English is my first language...and really my only language. I know a few words and general pronunciation of some other languages, but nothing conversational. Within the last year, I built a computer for the express purpose of having a machine that could run Skyrim with High/Ultra settings (and play a copy of Fallout 4 someone gifted me). I have a theater background with a little experience in video and sound, as well as a little experience in acting. I've practiced various accents that I've been hoping to put to good use instead of randomly speaking to no one in particular. I also like to try impressions. Mostly of film characters, but have tried real people too. I've successfully done Sean Connery once. Experience: Have a theater background with a little acting, but very little actual voice acting. Can carry a tune. General tom-foolery with various accents and impressions. Skills: Accents - Russian, Scottish, a couple variations of English, French(getting better), Australian, stereotypical Mexican/Spanish, Italian, USA-Southern/Redneck, Skyrim-Nord Other - Hamster voice(what I call "hamster", it's not a voice I do publicly), Gollum-esque, Mickey Mouse, Jar Jar Binks, Goofy, some beatboxing/sound effects, Skyrim-Dremora Tech: Basics of Audacity and sound editing My Equipment: Phone-based microphone or basic headset, nothing special. Sample: A Skyrim Vacation - This was supposed to be the first in a series starring the two characters within. The character Neil is my regular voice, the character of Frenner (not named) is my attempt at a Nord voice. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1IGNL9sqr9I
  2. I'd recommend staying away from Full Sail, though. I considered it as an option at one point, but after reading reviews and researching more information about it, it didn't seem like a good place. I agree with the others, it's never too late for a change. I'm 31 and still trying to find my ideal career, and I have met people in their 50's, 60's, and 70's that are going back to school for a new career. Just make sure you do a lot of research before choosing a school.

I know I don't hear any extra sounds when interacting with objects, so while not targeting anything I hit the 'E' key quite a few times but didn't hear anything. But perhaps try searching in Utilities or Bug Fixes? Or it may be something specific to your game or machine? ---------------------------------------- Hm, i actually solved this problem with this Silent UI mod. but yeah there is a clicking noise, when you hit e i guess while not Targeting anything. you'll hear Click every time you hit E. you probably installed a mod like that as well if you haven't heard any clicking noise when Hitting E. and its not a bug its a stupid pointless "feature" in the vanilla game. ------------------------------------------ That may very well be the case. I know I don't have the SilentUI mod, but perhaps something else did it.
  4. Think what I might do is use my modded game, make my videos, and then include a list in the description of every video I make of the mods I have installed. Then if the videos ever reach the point where monetizing them is an option, I will donate a percentage to the mod author of each mod I have, that way I don't feel like I'm profiting from their hard work and they get something out of it.

  6. Hey all, I'm wanting to dabble in Skyrim machinima. I don't want to make strictly mod review videos like most folks, I want to make my own little narrative. An original story in split into short 3-5 minute episodes. I would like to see another original series like Red vs Blue, but I have yet to find a good one, so I want to try to make one. For now it would be just a hobby and see where it goes. I would upload videos to Youtube for the world to see, but not profit from them just yet. Now, I have been reading up on the popularity and monetization of gaming videos and the censoring that's happening on Youtube. I'm not gonna lie, trying to take a piece of that pie sounds mighty good, but I do realize it's not all sunshine and rainbows and dreams do crash. While I am maintaining a realistic view on this and just focusing on it as a hobby for now, I am having thoughts about the future. Also, in my research I came across a How-To video for making Skyrim Machinima. In it a member from AdjacentGames, the makers of the COPS: Skyrim series, mentions they use a heavily modded instance of the game, citing their source as nexusmods, as well as a couple specific mods involving green screens and puppeteering. I mention this because their videos appear to be monetized. So, mod authors, or anyone else, what's your stance on monetized videos that aren't specific reviews of your work? What about not being specifically mentioned in non-commercialized videos of the same type? I'd like to be able to use mods, as it would be a nicer video, and if I need to get permission I will. What's acceptable and what's not?
  7. I noticed this too. I installed skyrim on new computer with a few choice character and NPC related mods, no landscape textures at all, and it ran like the wind. Then I added a bunch of landscape texture mods and it slowed waayyyyyyyyy down to point of unplayable. I figured some of my mods might be a factor, but now it's good to know which ones I need to uninstall.
