  1. I beg to differ, and the lecture in server economics is out of place. They ask to remove an issue that actually annoys a large chunk of the nexus populace, not to remove advertisment.
  2. I have absolutely nothing nice what so ever to say about this. It just looks messy, disorganized and cluttered etc. In fact it's so horribly bad it will prevent me from ever visting the site again untill the good ol' layout is back, which is a shame because I like the nexus. (No, that not a threat or "do this or I quit" statement, I'm just telling how I feel) Let us chose between the old layout and the new garbage in our personal settings. /Edit/ I forgot to say, and I think I speak for a lot of people, if I wanted to read the comments (which now days have a tendency to be uninteresting to read, so to speak) I would do so through the comment section of the forums.
  3. I think I speak for everyone when I say the high res texture pack was exciting news. However to me the result of installing can only be described as less than pleasant. Ever since installing the OHRTP I've had textures flicker to visible and invisible. Image As you can see, it's pretty annoying. Uninstalling, tinkering etc haven't changed the problems. Is anyone aware of a possible fix or have any thoughts on how to fix this issue? I've also had problems with blue textures, but I managed to resolve that problem by extracting the textures from the .BSA. So if you have problems with blue textures, this is your fix.
  4. Bethesda's US and UK laws and roots take place into this. The Swedish law has no effect here, as Bethesda is the one sueing. Sorry, but if it wasn't valid, Bethesda wouldn't sue anyway. They did because they know that the Swedish law has no effect on this, and only the law and order in the US/UK (both basicly the same) takes effect. So by submiting a sack with a big ol' dollar-sign on it to the Swedish court, you actually think US/UK law will ever see itself in a swedish court? I'm sorry my good Sir, that's just not ever going to happen. I know the US like to think they can hold citizens located in their own country accountable under US laws and jurisdictions, but as France would put it: http://www.figarospeech.com/storage/monty.jpg
  5. Seems to work, but I figured out that just using the old and new texture path overrides the OHRTP as well. But why double the size of a simple retexture upload when you can simply edit the .ini?
  6. I just tried a retex on the Official HR Texture Pack(from now on OHRTP). Just to see if I can find a possible way to use retextures instead of vanilla HR textures. So far I've found two options. A) Uninstall OHRTP, use an unoffical high res texture pack. B) Use OHRTP, do not use retextures For some reason or another I'm unable to use a retexture from either the vanilla or the new OHRTP archive structure. Has anyone come up with a solution for this yet? Edit: So many typos..
  7. No point to debate the mod. If the guy wants to he can repeal and clear, what seem to me as an missunderstanding, and get back to posting again. On to the topic at hand. I honestly don't see the issue with Steam. So far I haven't had any problems with it. Most functions are very comfortable. I usualy like to manage my data on my own. But really, the "verify integrity of game cache" is a very comfortable tool to use. The community tab is also something I enjoy a lot while playing games. The point about having another process leeching power just to be able to play a game I can understand. But I cannot relate to it as I have never experienced that problem with Steam. I also like the global availability to my game library without having to bring around a hundred discs with me, just incase I want to some of thoes games. To me, all these arguments and hate thowards Steam seem void to me. Except for the Workshop Part. That makes the future of moding very suspect. And I can't understand why anyone would want to automatically update mods. I update mods when I want to and have the time to then edit the mod to be compatible with my own or other downloaded mods. And this claimed "hassle" or "over complication" to install mods is just utterly silly. Really, how hard is it to open an archive, mark the esp, meshes and texture folder and paste it into skyrim/data? I mean, if you know how to start the computer you should know how to do that. In my opinion. Now I've been typing too much and way too inconcistent so I'll do you all a favour and shut myself up. Edit: Corrected some typos.
  8. I'll be unpacking all the official high res textures, back up the BSA's and delete the BSA's and ESP's from the data folder, followed by lots of work recreating my custom textures on the new "better" version of textures. I've already raged for about an hour that they decided it was a good idea to use ESP's to get the textures enabled. Seriously? Who is the damn genius that came up with this bizzare idea over at Beth?
  9. This won't fly as it's under swedish law. No way. Why? In Sweden you can't trademark excisting words in a language (I doubt that applies to fictional languages though, but as far as I know "scrolls" is a real word). Heck, you can't even trademark entire letters. I suppose next step will be to serve any company using the word "the" in their titles. Would be cool if the Tolkien brothers sued Bethesda for using their father's and partially their work in their (Bethesda's) games. No matter, if they want to fund the swedish government with free cash, who am I to complain?
  10. 1. Right click Skyrim in the Steam menu. 2. Properties 3. Local Files tab 4. Verify integrity of game cache Should cause Skyrim to update to the latest patch. Edit: Also check the Update tab and make sure it's set to "Always keep this game up to date"
  11. I'm too tired to read all posts right now. Sorry about that. But if you want my advice. Warrior. Heavy armor, block, one-handed (for obvious reasons), smithing, enchanting and alteration (to get the magicka resistance perk maxed). Then just enchant your gear to get as high resistance you can get to magicka, but especially fire, frost and shock. Enchant the rest of the stuff with hp, hp recovery. And whats left over to whatever you feel necessary. Enchant weapon with soul trap for 2 sec (just in case) and absorb health. (carrying asuras star/black star makes things easier) So far with this build I have never once been close to half-dead (for obvious reasons). Another option is to dualwield and forget about hp/stamina and just stack one-handed damage. More or less one-shotted Alduin with a power-attack like that.
  12. I would like to see the poll option "Skyrim belongs to the Nords!". I'll vote for that. Damn the frost elves and so forth.
  13. A few thousands in total, I would guess around 20k - 30k. I have serious issues with NPCs telling me off. Well that and the ebony blade needs to be fed.
