  1. Bad Idea List 1. Clone Dinosaurs 2. Try and bring back recently deceased people 3. Paid mods 4. Pre-Order games 5. Movie Reboots
  2. I voice Hoth in Skyrim, Capt Scull in Fallout New Vegas Bounties and more recently, the main questgiver in a mod releasing this weekend that I can't mention yet. That said, Would love to throw my hat in the ring for this. Added bonus, I have a metric ton of experience writing Film Noir dialog :)
  3. Some of ya'll are trippin. If you had a yard sale and have a couch listed FOR FREE, would you not be annoyed if people starting asking you to re upholster it in a diff color, or since it doesnt fit in their car, demand YOU deliver it for free for them, or ask if you can make it into a table... etc etc. Thats kinda how mods work. Elianora does amazing work and she has done so even while dealing with a metric ton of user nonsense. I have yet to see her act rude to people who post reasonable questions or such. BUT if you are the user who is standing in front of big sign that says Tacos for Sale and you keep asking people "do they sell tacos", well then you are the problem. 99% of every thing is in the descriptions of her & most peoples mods. Go here to get it, use this to make it, wont work with XYZ. Now imagine 100 people asking you the same exact question that is clearly spelled out in a mods description. You would get pretty annoyed. Then imagine the non stop demands on a mod maker. Can you do this, will you make it this color because I dont like the one you used etc etc. It can get old fast. I personally do not know her, but I use her mods and comment when I can if its relevant, and if it has not been asked and answered. For those insisting this is a seller buyer relationship, lets be aware that the customer IS NOT always right and she isnt selling anything. Rem,ember the free couch up above? Toss in things for free and that rule is 1000x more important. Anyways, use her mods or dont, but dont expect any mod author to live up to ideals you set for them. They are who they are and either accept that, ignore that or neither and move along. :/
  4. Age: Over 35 Gender: Male Experience: Very Experienced. Voice of the Companion Hoth by Hothtrooper. A Mod For Skyrim (Also created a majority of his dialog) Voiced Lt. Scull (questgiver) in the mod New Vegas Bounties II by Someguy2000. A Mod for Fallout New Vegas Have voiced in several original Machinama projects over the years. Skills: Can prep voices files in most formats.. Can assist in dialog writing and flow. Plot and story where characters are concerned. About Me: I am pretty picky about voice projects, I prefer to work with proven modders who will finish mods they start. I love VO'ing great and unique mods with solid characters and plot driven story lines. Recently just made myself available again
  5. Yeah, I did the math. 35 Lines a day would be just a tad over a year (371 days), assuming I did those every day. Holy Mackerel. I like those odds ;)
  6. i just want my player character to have tougher voice like he smoke a lot of cigarettes lol and also i check it out but nah voice over sounds way better Has anyone been able to pull the dialog trees from the game yet? I read this and thought, hrmmm, maybe I'll give it a go if its not some INSANE amount of dialog. There are just short of 13,000 lines of dialogue for both protagonists. Good Jumpin Jebus that's a LOT of Jibber Jabber. I should record a few and see how it comes off. I would need somebody capable of getting that in game and thats bound to require the CK right? I mean for Hoth I had maybe 100 lines, but I improvised most of those so it wasnt 13k...still tho, I like the challenge. Not sure if anyone would as interested in it tho. My thoughts are if you want to have a less good ol nice guy voice and more of a gruff sound. I dunno, daunting to say the least but i'm interested in pursuing it I think. At least as a test

  8. I'm sure this comment will get buried, but I just wanted to say that it feels "right" and fair and to be honest even reasonable to donate, if you can , to a modder whose work you enjoy. Same with the Nexus. Skyrim came out in 2011. Its 2015 and I haven't played a vanilla version of this game, since easily, a month after release. I need to do this as soon as I can, because after the past few days it became clear, this game and others would have lost their luster years ago if not for modders and websites like this. You can critic a mod without being a jerk about it, you can ask for changes but honestly anyone who expects them should get a boot to the head. A kind word goes a lot further than you think. Mods and modders not only prolong the shelf life of a game, they fix bugs, enhance gameplay, add amazing content, make the smallest details worth their weight in gold all JUST to suite user needs that a company might not see as a vital priority. Example being something as simple HD rugs or lanterns or improved windows. None of those things are high priority for a developer, but people go forth and make those. Why? Because they can. Being spoiled about it is downright stupid. For every troll however there are many more who are happy to praise and offer genuine thanks. It's not money, you cant buy a cup of joe with it, but it's gotta feel good. I have had a few days where the real world sucked, but then I happen to read a comment on my voice acting in the Hoth mod and I think, wow. Thats awesome. Its awesome knowing I made a stranger laugh o of what have you. I mean seriously, given the chance, I'd buy Hothtrooper all the beer he could drink. Just for picking me to be part of something so cool. I'm not some dumb fanboy, I spent 60 bucks on a game over 4 years ago and its still playable and better now than ever. because of mods and modders and the Nexus. For me, Its not hard to say a kind word about a mod I love. The modder may or may not read it, but they definitly deserve our HUMBLE thanks. Why? because they make these games better for us. They make them immersive. They crate new worlds for us to run around in. They make the game look better, act better. A kind and positive word to a modder is better than none at all for a mod you love. A donation, amn thats gotta feel amazing to a modder. Its better than a tip. Its a real world reward. When possible, we should do it. FavoredSoul, there will always be people who can screw up a good thing just by existing. Dont be mad at them, pity them. There never going to know the joy of building something, they only know how to tear things down. Thats sad. They, however should never occupy space in your mind. Never. They simply, the trolls i mean, dont have the value to be worth it. I'm always going to be pro free modding, because I just am, but I also feel that the person who does donate, be it a buck even it worth more than 100 trolls. Why? because they had to jump through a few hoops to do it. Anyways, anyone who thinks we dont need mods is just foolish. We dont need steak, but when we get a perfectly cooked one for free, well, saying thank you is not a whole lot to ask is it? Of course we need mods. Mods make the money we spent on a game even more valuable, because long after the vanilla game has become dull, mods let us continue on. FOR YEARS.... I think i got off track with what I wanted to say, but never begrudge anyone the right to an opinion or position, especially if they are talking about something they made.
  9. I have voiced two of the most popular and most downloaded mods on the Nexus. Hoth by Hothtrooper for Skyrim and New Vegas Bounties as Capt. Scull, the quest giver in that mod. I mention that because if those mods were purchase only mods, I would not have done them. For both personal and logistical reasons. I think, as this idea goes on, that the Nexus will be on the front lines of the issue. I also think its important that we as both users of the site and modders or contributors do what we can to prevent this pay for mods model from going much further. Supporting this site and the modders who make amazing content is just one way to do that. I never had one before, but I will be getting myself a premium membership to support this site that makes my gaming 1000X better. I will also try and make a point of donating to modders when the opportunity is there. The Nexus and the Modders have made my gaming experiences better, I feel that if I can I should try and do what I can for them. I think we all should.
  10. Jase180 Actor Stats Age: Over 35 Gender: Male Race: White Last Updated: 6/01/14 Active Member: Yes Playable Races: Most races, except Khajit. Just can't get that one Experience: Tons. I voiced Hoth: I voice Capt Scull (The quest giver) in New Vegas Bounties II and soon NVB III There are a few other mods coming out that I am a VA in, both of which are not up yet. I have done several Machinema (non lip dub ) projects as well. Skills: Can deliver professional, crisp, clean VA files. I can also work creatively with mod creators. About Me: I'm just a guy who likes to VA in the right projects. I can be very selective about what mods I choose to VA in, so I say no more than I say yes. That said, if you have a clear vision and the ability to deliver the mod you envision, I'm always looking for something new and interesting. Voice Samples: If you play Skyrim or Fallout New Vegas then odds are you know my work and have likely used the mods I VA in. Hoth is pretty well known with Skyrim and New Vegas Bounties is one of the most popular FNV DLC level Mods.
  11. Its no even close to rude. it exactly right on how borders are drawn. Since before the Roman Empire this has been the case. Europe, Asia, pretty much anywhere Alexander went, this was how it was done. I don't think rude means what you think it does :/ rude /roÍžod/ Adjective Offensively impolite or ill-mannered Synonyms rough - coarse - crude - impolite - uncivil
  12. I'm curious about something before I make my suggestions. Whats you cost per user? In other words, do you have a number on what it costs the site to get a new member and a number for what it costs to support an average members use over a certain user life span. 10 users cost you X, resources, etc. How much ad revenue do you need to generate to support 1 user, 10, 20, 100. Offset of membership costs spread out over the entire user base? Ad fees? I should PM you (once you know my background, this chit chat might make more sense)
  13. having same issues, the DB sanc and the ruins under Markharth..big empty box of air. Floating door and thats it. gamebreaker. I dont have any mods that would mess with these areas, atleast not that would seem obvious. Anyone?
  14. Two things come to mind. I'd like to be able to have a character retire after all that dragonborn stuff and be the blacksmith in a village with the option to sell to locals. A house like that, small farm or small shop in a town like the guy in Riverwood would be cool. A few towns lack a blacksmith. The other is a place geared toward Barbarian types, not enough of those.aside from the abandoned orc fort. I think a for/house like than in a great location would be a nice change up. 1 or 2 npcs are more than enough. So many big houses and so few useable places for just living in Skyrim after the MQ and doing what ya like. AHouses made for specific classes are starting to show up, but nothing like Mushroom Manor where my Mage lived after the MQ and just did his thing or a good Skyrim hunting lodge for just that. Thistle Cottage is a good example, but its just outside Riverwood and not deep in the mountains. usefull stuff not overkill, a house that functions like Millstone Farm So far, for me, Reachwind Eyrie is the best one because its just the right size, has a story and fits into the world. So I guess the short answer is houses with a purpose other than loot museums.
