  1. Shadowslasher410, Thank you, not so handy with XEdit for this kind of thing but not a stranger to it either. Clinster74
  2. First posted in the general mod authors forum: I did a little looking maybe not enough. Can some tell me how to add items to the scrap list. I'm working on a settlement mod and there are some items that will not scrap even with Spring Cleaning. Can I/how do i add them to the scrap list or should I just delete them or replace them with items than can be scraped. One item is the white picketed fences in Fairline Hill Est. Thanks Clintster74
  3. Can we please stick to the subject. My question was and still is. Dose any one know the procedure for making a item scrabble in the CK and will it interfere with the scraping mods like Spring cleaning Just a note my game and my system handles the two .ini lines listed above with no loss of FPS, no lag and I have no problems with dropping out of workshop mode
  4. rdunlap/Robert, Either way, and I'm not good at making those kind of edits with Xedit I still don't know the procedure for making something scrabble. I'm just going to replace them with fence I know can be scraped more work but oh well. Clint
  5. @HayYou I have that line set to 0 and use Spring Cleaning, and it will not scrap there are three other items that will not scrap as well but I changed them to workshop items and they can now be scraped. And what's you with the know how to read box? @ Ethreon Yes that line will cause LOD issues if you scrap the wrong item IE the shrubs in Sanctuary, how ever if you add the line bUsePreCulledObjects=0 it will stop the LOD issues. NOTE this line will cause FPS drops and lag on weaker systems I run twin GTX 760 4gig cards in SLI on true twin 16X slots. this is not the same fence as used at Sanctuary it is a three sided one piece fence and will not scrap, I can use CC disable and remove it but not every body seams to now how to do that @Hobo Feral In the CK there is workshop_co_scrapXXXXX, workshopScrappableKeyword, workshoprecipe_XXX ot takes one or all to add a item to the scrap list trying to find out wicth one

  7. JayCowell1, Once we get the GECK/CK I have plans to use parts of the Cabot house for a interior cell player house. I was doing Clean textures before they were popular as they are now in FO4. Check my profile for my house mods for Skyrim and FNV Clintster74
  8. Well you all are doing better than me, I just decided four days ago to start running mods, I like to play most of the game with out to start. Before I installed NMM or any mods I un packed my BA2 folders (I mod as well when the GECK comes out) and added the following lines under [Launcher] in the Fallout4Prefs.ini file bEnableFileSelection=1 help In the Fallout4custom.ini I added [Archive] bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 sResourceDataDirsFinal= And my game CTD's before the first load screen, I get the FO4 start screen, hit play get the black screen with mouse indicator the little icon in the lower right corner never shows up and then CTD. After about a hour of testing and replacing my .ini files (I have backup's) and trying one line at a time found that either one of the lines bInvalidateOlderFiles=1 or sResourceDataDirsFinal= under [Archive] weather in the Fallout4.ini or the Fallout4Custom.ini file used separately or together will cause the CTD. My fix for now was to use the old Fallout4.ini edit that adds , TEXTURES\, MUSIC\, SOUND\, INTERFACE\, MESHES\, PROGRAMS\, MATERIALS\, LODSETTINGS\, VIS\, MISC\, SCRIPTS\, SHADERSFX\ to the line under [archive] sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\ The whole thing should look like thissResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\, TEXTURES\, MUSIC\, SOUND\, INTERFACE\, MESHES\, PROGRAMS\, MATERIALS\, LODSETTINGS\, VIS\, MISC\, SCRIPTS\, SHADERSFX\ This makes load times slow and I do mean slow, pain in the butt, but I can use mods with no CTD Clintster74
  9. I still see a lot of complaining about the new home page layout so quoting a comment made by buddah a site moderator, reposting a comment I had made four pages ago, and adding a comment in specific references to buddah’s line about more premium members _________________________________________________________________________________________ Quot Everybody is asking why the change......ever heard of asset management ? You have a finite resource no matter who you are or what you are doing. So you either need to add resources or optimize the effectiveness of the available assets. So here are the options. For increasing the resources we need to increase revenue for the sites as a whole. This is accomplished in one of two ways, more premium members [no control over that} or increased advertising which all will agree is less than desirable. The most viable option is optimization of available assets, this means some reconfiguration to the way the site is presented and displayed to reduce the number of unnecessary page loads and remove demand and stress on the servers. Another option is to reduce the download cap on the non premium servers and for non premium users of NMM and reallocate those resources into the sites. Again not really a desirable option. So give some specific recommendations for improvement, as I hate this and this sucks don't really tell us much. Use a control F5 for a forced reload of the page from the net, it may make things display better. ________________________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________________________ Quot @ The staff of Nexus what I’m about to say maybe rude, crude and socially unacceptable, and I hope I don’t get the boot for it; it is in the long run in your favor. I was and still am not happy with the new lay out on the home page, it is better than it first was. I had made “specific recommendations” and they had been seconded on the first thread of the new lay out. Here is a revised specific recommendation. 1. Keep the hot file big revolving pic were it is. 2. Keep the new hot file list were it is, that part of the revised new home page I like. 3. Move the latest files back under the hot files. Same size as the new hot file list. 4. Move the latest images under the latest files. Same size as the new hot files list 5. Shorten the length of the Your feeds to accommodate. 6. Put the mods of the month up were the latest files are now. 7. For premium and supporter members put site news under file of the month for all others use it for advertising. Now on to Buddah’s last comment: Thank you, you have made things a lot clearer on the why of the new lay out. I fully understand resource management; I deal with it every day in my job and it can be a b-i-t-c-h to cram 10lb of marital in a 5lb bucket. @ The community in general: I see a lot of complaining, griping, moaning and growing and very little of it with any specific recommendations. And most of it from members that do not support the nexus, and yes I do mean with a paid subscription. Out of the last 40comments, three were by a moderator, eight my premium members and one by a supporter. That leaves twenty eight comment/complaints from none supporting members. This site is free, free, free and I believe due to legal reasons it has to stay that way. I used the nexus for two or three months before getting an account and then couple more months before going “LIFE TIME PREMIUM” I did this because this is the best (bar none) site on the net for user to get mods for the games we play, as authors to post our mods, and for new mod authors to get help. I have made friends around the world through this site some that I am in e-mail contact with on a near daily bases and it started with one of us asking a question on how to do something in the CS/GECK/CK. I am continually working with several modders new and old last month I wrought four tutorials and received two all for free and because of the Nexus. I see a lot of new modders asking for donations for their work, and yet they have not supported the very site that is hosting their work and offering a link for them to receive a donation, to me this is rude and inconsiderate and yet they complain about the site. So to all of you who complain about the lay out, down load speeds, the way things are run in general and do not support this site PUT UP OR SHUT UP. You want to ask for a donation for your work how about supporting the site that is supporting you, you want to see changes to things that you don’t like then support this site. Dark0ne and the staff of this site get no pay for their time and they put a lot of it in to this site and are doing the best they can with the limited resource they have. Clintster74 Mod user Mod author Premium supporter of the Nexus ________________________________________________________________________________________ @ Dark0ne and the staff of the Nexus One way to help generate more premium members and there for more revenue is to make the option to ask for donations available to premium members only. There are several benefits to going premium why not make this one of them.

  11. @ Dark0ne ________________________________________________________________________________________ Quote I'm wondering if most of the people complaining have noticed you've got a load of new options in your preferences to manipulate what you see in the feeds. Don't like seeing who's commented on what? Turn it off, then the tracked file feed will only show you when an author adds new stuff to one of your tracked files. Don't like the tracked files feed and just want to see what new files have been uploaded, or the site news? Set your default feed to Latest files or Site news and ignore the other feeds. So yeah, it would be good if the people complaining about the social networking features could acknowledge that they're aware they can customise things to have it absolutely ignored. _________________________________________________________________________________________ It might have been helpful in your description of the changes and new features to have let all of us know that there were now add options to our preferences. In the almost three years I have been a member I have check my preferences four times, when I first joined, when I paid for my life time premium membership, when I had to change my e-mail address and now after reading your comment. I going to step out on a limb hear and take a guess that most of us don’t check or change our preferences that often. After reading your comment I have checked and changed mine (set it to latest files) and it’s a little better. However the core of the Nexus is its accesses to mods not it’s social features swap the columns give Hot files, Latest Files and Latest Images the space you gave the social features and put the Social features over were you have the mods and images now listed keeping Mods of the Month on top. It’s your site, you started it, you maintain it, but without the games there would be no us and without us there would be no mods and without mods there would be no Nexus. The Nexus and now SRE (and it is a link to the Nexus) are the only sites I up load to, allow my assets to be used, and state that in my description. I won’t leave but am a little disappointed in the new home page layout. After nine pages of 95% negative comments on the change you might reconsider the lay out. @ Athyra I use the BBC code and there has been no effect on my pages color and screen shots are still there. @ The Vampire Dante I think we are in agrement. @LazyAltmer You got there before me. Peace out
  12. ___________________________________________________ QUOTE The Nexus used to be about the mods. Now, to judge by the use of screen real estate on the front page, and to judge by the attitude that this has been pushed out with; Social Networking is the MOST important thing for the Nexus to be doing. Mods are now a sidebar, a tangent, a lure to the real important work of the Nexus becoming the next Facebook. I guess Social Networking sites have higher ad rates than user-interest sites. Otherwise, I'm having a hard time imagining why Dark0ne would be so unfriendly and closed-minded about all this. He must be motivated by something other than the mods. ___________________________________________________ Quite literally just look at the new home page, Hot Files, New Files and Latest Images now take up less than a third of the page. I joined the Nexus not a social network. Mods should be the first the you see. Swap the columns give the mods the majority of the page and put the social c**p to the side
  13. I’m in agreement with countless others, and do not like the new front page. I want to see the Hot Files and then the Latest Files at one glance and then scroll down for news if I want. The new Facebook home page is a dud. Leave the social networking to Facebook and Twitter, this is a mod site and should look like one putting mods up front and foremost on the home page. But according to Dark0ne we have no choice. ______________________________________________________________________________________ QUOTE We won't be supporting two different layouts and this layout will be staying. ______________________________________________________________________________________ @ CalenEllefson Ditto, I guess premium and supporter members opinions don’t count
  14. Just so you know i have it all working. In the CK it' not under Recipe, it's under Items/Consturctible Object and RecipeWeaponxxxxxxxxx to craft a set of armor and Temperweaponxxxxxxx to improve a weapon same way with armor, look at the key word and make sure it is set to the crafting right crafting station
