  1. Had a look and the respawns box is not ticked, in fact it is greyed out. I wouldn't expect that to cause this behaviour quite anyway, as the npc consistently resets every time i run the game, not every 3 days, or whatever the timer is for skyrim... Thanks for the pointer though
  2. No scripts I'm afraid. The Tutorial I linked seems to suggest that followers can now be made exclusively using factions, unlike what I remember of FO3 and Oblivion. It does work in terms of they are a working companion, which is good, just the npc resets each launch.
  3. I literally just drag and dropped the actor from the object window to the cell in the render window... I didn't use a quest. Could that then be the cause of my problem?
  4. To clarify, for an existing npc, you need only export the facial textures. You need only ESM-ify for the new npcs. I don't know if this is all one mod file you're creating, but I thought I should mention it in case they were separate, as making masters is something to avoid if you don't need to do it.
  5. So making my first custom companion, and was delighted to see that it's not too hard on skyrim, at least in theory, according to this tutorial: Creating A Companion This worked fine, but the classic head colour, body colour mismatch with edited npcs happened, so I did a workaround that involved making the mod a master, and extracting the face shader texture(?). This worked fine; the follower looks exactly as in the CK now, but my problem is that after getting them to follow me, restarting the game causes them to revert back to where they were placed in the CK. I've tried it a few times, and loading saves without quitting works fine (the follower is still there), but restarting skyrim and then loading the save results in them disappearing. Anyone know of a possible cause of this? feel it might be to do with the Master file, but not sure.... On a side note: the game still thinks I have a follower with me on loading the save, as I have to set "playerfollowercount" to 0 before recruiting them again.
  6. I'm guessing that by installing with obmm you mean using an .omod? OBMM should be fine for race mods and beauty mods, omod or not. I haven't installed wolven anthros myself but i'm fairly sure what you will find in the extracted folder you downloaded is most likely an .esp and meshes, textures, sound etc folders? If that IS the case, then you can do one of two things; manually install or create an .omod To manually install it, just copy the aforementioned contents of the wolven anthros folder to the Data folder inside the Oblivion install folder (in program files under bethesda softworks). you should then be asked about merging the meshes and textures folders (sound too if there are any), to which you click yes. once this is done, you can run obmm, and on your plugin list on the left, there should now be one or several .esps from the mod. Tick these as appropriate, and play the game. Creating an .omod would require clicking the create button at the bottom left of obmm, and then selecting add folder, and finding the extracted folder for wolven anthros that you downloaded. once this has been added, just fill in some of the details at the top and click create omod. It should then compress (might take a while) and once it is done it will appear on the mod list on the left along with all your other omods. This is general for most mods, so may not apply EXACTLY to wolven anthros... there may be various choices to make which will require you manipulating the files initially before copying/adding to omod. I expect a readme will be included in the mod which will more accurately tell you how to install, so i would check there. Hope this helps....
  7. Looking for neck seam concealers, i've found only luchaire's chain necklaces. Now these look fine, but the chain style isn't exactly to my tastes. On F:NV I recall having a much wider range of concealers, including a string necklace which i used primarily. I am also aware that certain scarfs and neckerchiefs do the same thing, but i feel these are too drastic just to cover the seam. So anyone know of any concealers other than the chain ones? Thanks
  8. I'm actually experiencing a similar thing here, firefox tells me after downloading about a quarter of a file the source file could not be read, and chrome tells me that download was interrupted, so i'm fairly sure it's not individual to the browser. They both download extremely slowly for the duration that they do, so it is possible that the failure is automatic because of such slow speeds. This DOES only occur for the nexus sites too, so either I'm somehow blocking nexus, or it's a problem on the other end..... If anyone else has the same problem i'd be interested to know...
  9. Yeah so I accidentally overwrote my entire meshes folder by pressing extract all on the bsa browser in fomm.... D= Anyone know an easy way to possibly revert this, short of re-downloading any custom meshes i previously had? It's a long shot i know.... :P EDIT: No longer a problem, turns out i didn't need to re-download much at all to get it all back, Although I do now have another problem..... Since the meshes got overwritten the my hairs (vanilla ones) have started clipping heads, leaving some dodgy bald patches... http://img705.imageshack.us/img705/2866/meshproblemc.jpg
  10. It's not a world object and the mass is 1... It was originally a projectile .nif, so i think that may be the cause? It also appears to be unselectable from the console, or in the render window of the GECK :S.
  11. So i've used a mesh from a projectile, and tried to convert it into a standard havok object that can be picked up, but the in-game item is totally static(doesnt even fall) and the item can't be targeted to pick it up. I have successfully added it to my inventory through console commands, but again if dropped, it just hovers in the air and can't be picked back up. I have tried a few things in NifSkope, as i'm fairly sure this is where the problem is. I have replaced the NiTriStrips and collision related blocks of a normal clutter item with the ones i wanted, but this made no difference. If anyone knows what i'm doing wrong, some help would be great.. thanks
